It is more critical now more than ever, with the Covid 19 pandemic, that we take preventative measures when cleaning. Cleaning should be top priority, and with that a thorough plan should be set in place. With a strong plan set in place, both the workplace and the employees  are safe.

First, we need to understand that bloodborne pathogens are found in a humans blood, vomit, and sometimes saliva that could be harmful if direct contact is made causing serious diseases. These diseases include HIV, HBV, and Hepatitis. We can expose ourselves to these pathogens thru our nose and mouth, but also thru cuts and scrapes on our skin. To prevent ourselves from becoming ill, it is imperative to follow Oshas Universal Precaution, which recommends that blood and certain body fluids from ALL patients be considered potentially infectious and that infection control precautions be taken to minimize the risk of exposure.

Some precautions required by my cleaning employees are that they wear proper PPE including a facemask and gloves. Anything containing human fluids are to be places in a red hazardous bad and any needles or sharp items be places in a needle container. Proper disinfecting of the area followed by proper disinfecting and/or disposal of the cleaning tools,  PPE and washing our hands. Strictly following these  few guidelines can minimize the risk of exposure and keepong everyone healthy.

It has never been more obvious than now, with the current pandemic situation, that we cannot take for granted cleaning procedures or protocols. We must be vigilant in developing a thorough offensive plan. This plan must include a clear understanding of what a pathogen is and what is required to develop a defensive and strategic plan. This plan should outline clearly, proper practices, handling of areas and transportation of contaminated items.

The first step is understanding that pathogens are presented in human blood and that they can cause serious and deadly diseases in humans. Exposure to these pathogens happen when they come into contact with mucus membranes such as the nose, mouth, or open cuts or breaks in skin.  This exposure can occur from blood, vomit, and saliva. Diseases such as HBV, Hepititus, HIV can be contracted from such exposure. This is why, a Universal Precaution Approach must be seriously adhered to.

OSHA requires that the Universal Approach should be clearly outlined and posted at each work site. It is imperative that it be followed. Should contamination occur Specific documentation must be submitted. This also requires records to be kept for 3 years. If an cleaning employee is exposed, they must know that the first thing they should do is immediately report it to their supervisor and notify their physician.  The employee should be made aware of potential symptoms such as fatigue, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and light color stools.  Remember the Best Defense is a Thorough Offense.

Before starting my Green Clean journey, I had no clue how harmful some of the cleaners I used were. I knew there were natural products as I use them more often than others. But I had not gotten in depth on Green Cleaning.

I have learned so much about natural vs chemical. For instance, Furniture polish and degreasers contain Kerosene. It can damage lung tissues and dissolve the fatty tissue that surrounds nerve cells. I had never even heard of that!

Natural products like vinegar or lemon juice can be used to make furniture polish. Vinegar is a multi tool for cleaning! It can be used just about everywhere. Vinegar also can just be used paired with water. It makes an amazing glass cleaner!

Using Green Cleaning products is healthier for you and the environment. Now that I am Green Clean Certified, I can now make your home happier and healthier! Look at all the other Green Cleaning companies we have! https://www.ijcsa.org/Green-Cleaning-Services

Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogens and the standards in place are important safeguards in the prevention and spread of pathogens. Their associated diseases which may result in illness and potentially death can be prevented through awareness. and consistency.

Bloodborne Pathogens are pathogenic microscopic organisms found in human blood. They cause diseases some of which include Hepatitis B(HBV) or  HIV. Common points of exposure occurs via the mucus membrane in either the nose or mouth, or cuts or other breaks in the skin. Blood, saliva, or vomit can potentially contain Bloodborne Pathogens.

This is the situation, before we can discuss medical cleaning practices we have to think about why is there one in the first place. The reason is because it all starts from our home and businesses. If we implement a plan to treat our home and business just as it were the same as healthcare, we could tremendously lessen the spread of germs, bacteria and viruses.

Some residents and business owners rather try to do things themselves then to hire a cleaning expert https://www.ijcsa.org/Janitorial-Service-Directory-Find-A-Janitorial-Service-JanitorialServices that is trained and knowledgeable on how to clean homes and businesses properly and correctly. They risk doing it themselves (lack of knowledge). So, because of that we now bring it from our home to our job or business, spreading germs, bacteria and viruses in the workplace.

This is the reason we have medical cleaning practices. Medical cleaning practices should be no different from home or businesses, we all should have implemented a cleaning care plan in place starting from our home to keep our loved ones and others safe. We are all in this together and we need each other to help keep all of us safe. So, to all residents and business owner contact https://www.ijcsa.org/Janitorial-Service-Directory-Find-A-Janitorial-Service-JanitorialServices an expert in cleaning to help remove stress from you by providing regular maintenance cleaning.

Remember a clean environment is a healthy environment!
