Like those of us losing a loved one or having a loved one be living in an unsafe condition is the reason these companies exist because not everyone can handle cleaning an area where a loved one passed or clean an area that smells awful.
That’s the reason why we the professionals are here to help those loved ones and those people who are in need of assistance in cleaning. We take courses to be certified to do our jobs correctly and effectively. In a well mannered way and to follow all laws regarding the hazardous waste that will be disposed of and the training needed to avoid any contact with bloodborne pathogens.

Biohazard cleanup is a job you want a professional to do. Like backed up sewage, black mold, any unfortunate death involving bodily fluids. All are hazardous and extremely dangerous if not properly cleaned up. Customer and employee safety to health are a priority and OSHA has implemented many rules and guidelines that a certified professional must follow. These guidelines are in place to ensure every precaution is taken to to keep all involved safe.

A certified biohazard cleaning professional must take several hours of courses to learn the guidelines, emergency plans and when and how to write them, proper PPE gear, and the risk factors involved. Every job or scene has its own unique risks, and a trained OIC or certified worker will know the risks and dangers associated with the environment and materials involved.

For many, biohazard risks are only occasional but, for some people it's a job a career that is taken very seriously. Hazards such as Bloodborne Pathogens are tiny microorganism that cannot be seen by the eye alone. These Pathogenic microorganisms are present in the blood and could cause life threatening disease to humans. It is one of the few dangers in life that we don't have a cure for and that is why one must put safety for oneself and others first. So do you need a professional, when it comes to biohazard cleanup, I say yes....

Bloodborne Pathogens training is extremely important during this pandemic.  As a business owner, keeping my employees safe is very important to me. We need to make sure they are as safe as possible while they are working.

This is a very diverse service. We are cleaning different kinds of buildings and different areas which have the capability of having Bloodborne Pathogens. Each area has its on level of exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bacteria and viruses.  We must protect ourselves as provide the best possible service to our customers.

Before we can take care of other we must take care of ourselves by wearing the proper PPE.  Personal Protective Equipment must be worn automatically when you provide each service.  Each time you go into a building, office or  home, you are at risk of bloodborne pathogens different bacterias and must use precaution and safety at all times.  PPE will minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and illness. The PPE are our first and most important line of defense against all.

"How You Can Implement Medical Cleaning Practices Into Other Residential & Commercial Cleaning Situations?"  As we have gone through the video trainings and readings, it has been consistently stated that residential facilities are high-Risk grounds for germs and infectious diseases.  What has also been determined is that staff, employees, and visitors are at risk of exposure and the spread potential infection.  So our first solution to the spread is having clean work environments to decrease any spread, whether it be residential or commercial.  More specifically, working daily to keep contaminated environments clean.

In 2021, America’s general population is facing first-hand impacts of the spread of a harmful, potentially life-threatening virus as we are continuing to face the COVID-19 Virus.   The general population has been informed by local and statewide officials of necessary steps that need to be taken.  Also, we, as a general population, have referred to internet outlets, journals, and CDC guidelines to help eliminate and avoid being infected.  Why is this important in regards to health-care facilities and the general population?  The answer is simply this:  Anyone who is exposed to potentially infectious diseases, environment, and facilities is at risk of carrying that exposure out into the general public.  What is concerning is that the general public may not be as trained or prepared to avoid exposure and re-exposing to others properly.

So what health-care providers and cleaners do within facilities is vastly important to avoiding spread within the general population.  How do we get this knowledge out there?  Referring back to the current pandemic of COVID-19, in general, we are making America aware.  We see it on the news daily; we see signs in grocery stores with guidelines, and much is to be discovered through scholarly journals.  An important read for everyone can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/infectioncontrol/pdf/guidelines/environmental-guidelines-P.pdf

In closing, referring to several important concepts such as “knowing your enemy” and understanding the idea of “universal practice”  is essential.  While it has been stated throughout several posts, and presented in several trainings, we have to understand and using sources such as www.ijcsa.org. and the https://www.ijcsa.org/Janitorial-Service-Directory-Find-A-Janitorial-Service-JanitorialServices  is a great way to start implementing the proper steps in the workplace as well as for the general population.

The importance of being knowledgeable about blood borne pathogens and the use of Universal Precautions is to lessen the risk of being exposed or  contracting a bloodborne illness such as HPV and HIV in the workplace. The regular use and the checking of PPE or personal protective equipment lessens your risk of exposure. Routine hand washing is the most single important thing you can practice to prevent the contraction of a bloodborne pathogens. Knowing the signs and symptoms associated with an illness is essential in the disease process, it's treatment, prevention and progression.

Training in the proper handling of sharps and sharp containers are important in preventing workplace needle pricks. Bloodborne pathogens can be transmitted through contaminated needles, blood exposure, coming in contact with contaminated surfaces, and splatter or splashed Microorganisms coming into contact with the mucus membranes of an otherwise healthy person.

Knowing proper cleaning practices and techniques, being cautious about how you clean and disinfect surfaces were blood or bodily fluids may or may not be present is important to your safety, those around us and those we serve. You should always assume that areas and surfaces around you are contaminated with a pathogen.

Have you ever took the time to just imagine what your workplace or school environment would look like or even smell like if there was nobody to clean up all the messes that you tend to make from time to time  ? For the great majority , your response was that maybe  you  probably haven’t . Everyday , we go about our lives whatever that might look like , we go to the grocery store , stop for a gas fill up , go to the doctors office , or maybe even go to school , in all of these places it is your local janitors and custodians who take the credit for the clean environment that you stay in .

That means all of the nice and shiny floors that you walk on , the clean windows you look into  , & the vacuumed rugs you might lay on , it is  all because of your local hard working janitor . However, even though a janitors role might be limited as we think  to cleaning things it as actually far more important then just that .  Janitors use valuable knowledge on how to deal with certain chemicals that may be harmful to me or you if not used properly , they also quite often  are confronted with possible health hazards that can be a risk to them or others around if not dealt with cautiously .  With this knowledge it is important how janitors approach a possible health hazard , and how to identity when there is a possible hazard in front of them .

Identifying hazards can be noted as : sharp pointy objects in a trash can or any other place , blood  spills , and even vomit . All of these examples are considered to be hazardous because they all contain bloodborne pathogens ( BBP) which is an infectious microorganism that can cause disease in humans through blood or other exposure to other bodily fluids . Exposure to these hazards are not limited to just touch or getting somebody else’s blood in your opened wound , these diseases can actually be transmitted  just through contact through the mucus membrane, which is your nasal and mouth airways . These diseases include but are not limited to HBV and HIV.

So for janitors to come into work everyday to do they’re cleaning  , they need to make sure that they come prepared for any hazard at hand . Thankfully they do ! By the standard we call PPE which stands for personal protective equipment . PPE  is to make sure the janitor is safe and guarded from the exposure to BBP . Personal equipment are items such as gloves , masks , protective clothing , and goggles which protect from dealing with chemicals and other health hazards .

In conclusion , we see that a janitors role truly is more then just cleaning and making things look nice and shiny . They are the middleman between me and you that allows us to live in a healthy, safe , clean , hazard free environment . For any cleaning janitorial services try

The daily cleaning of any facility is very important to everyone that comes in contact with the building. Not only is a first impression important it shows the level of responsibility your organization shows as to cleanliness , safety etc.  The daily janitor usually is one that opens the facility and polices the entire area to look for anything that is out of order ,any trash or safety issues and takes care of all .

When you have a Daily custodial/janitor , they usually police all public areas a couple of times a day and also make sure that all bathrooms are not only clean at all times but that they are appropriately stocked in all paper, tissue and soap dispensers. Dry any spills and or wet floors throughout the day.

The nightly janitorial cleaners take care of the heavy cleaning after all building personnel have gone. They take out all trash , clean all bathrooms, public areas and offices getting them ready for another day of use. They are also responsible to secure all garbage area and the building once they are finished and ready to leave the building.

As you can see the janitor/custodian is a very important part of the daily staff on any building. They are the ones that make everything go smooth during the day and take care of any issues accordingly as they are usually the ones that get to see any issues first.

The importance of cleaning staff knowing about B.B.Ps.

It is very important for everyone to know about bloodborne pathogens and the fact that contracting them could lead to serious illness and maybe even death. It is not only the worker or the janitor who should have this knowledge but everyone else too. Like the wife of the janitor. so that she has the knowledge to catch a potential contraction of a bloodborne pathogen. Nobody cares more about the service worker then his or hers family.

It is even more important for the cleaning staff or janitor to know that he or she should about BBPs. They are not only responsible for themselves but to all the people they come into contact with. Especially if they have the responsibility and duties of cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing the restrooms at work. They have the responsibility to make sure that the restroom is a safe place for the consumer to use.

When dealing with blood, vomit, or trash there is the possibility to catch a BBP. It can been on a piece of toilet paper that someone used to sneeze on that was left in the trash. It is also important that the janitor use the right protective gear so as to not transfer any possible contaminants to his or her fellow employees. Handling the duties of a janitor should be done slowly and carefully.

In conclusion it should be a practice for the cleaning staff or janitor to work slowly. Making sure to be careful and not be careless and sloppy.
