A green cleaning program comes with reduced health risks. Green cleaning products ensure that the working environment is not only safe, but is a comfortable place to work in. This is especially true for those who are vulnerable when it comes to their health. We would want to create a safe environment for all people by reducing the amount of toxic chemicals that are used in cleaning. Therefore, a green cleaning program improves the quality of the air and environment around us.

Furthermore, green cleaning programs ensure better company standards and improves reputation. Companies that take extra care to the health of both employees and clients who come into the building would appear better to potential clients. This increases how well the company does. Also, the company's standards would remain at a higher level than other competitors. This standard would seep into other aspects of the company from proper cleanliness, such as customer service.

The IJCSA Masters Green Certification process has been a great experience. At its core, it reinforces the fundamentals presented in the Green Certification course. However, it doesn't stop there. The approximately 150 test questions provide a comprehensive combination of true/false, fill in the blank, multiple choice, and essay formats. This diverse format of questions targets all forms of driving knowledge retention.

Another aspect of the training that was enjoyable was the need to have to conduct one's own research in order to find clarity on some of the content (rather than having all of the information handed to you). The strong focus on chemicals, their hazards, limitations, and flexibility (in some cases) was very advantageous to the learning process.

In closing, I enjoyed refreshing and in some cases, expanding my knowledge.

It took 5 years of working in a hospital setting and several coarse from IJCSA To truly understand how effective the methods used in Medical cleaning can be, and how essential it can be moving forward.

In the medical field, or shall I say the environment service department, we disinfect accordingly and to the patient.  Every situation nor person is the same, some might be sick, while others might require surgery or even minor procedures all have a specific way of being cleaned using a specific chemicals for the material or surface to be cleaned.  More importantly these solutions are highly effective when used properly, and knowledge is key!

When you train, and educate yourself and others on the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, environment for your guest, customer, staff, and residents, and more importantly how to properly clean, kill time depending on surfaces and solutions being used can really help your building cleanse excel, helping keep everyone safe.  (HAI) can effect residents just as much as a resident, so using universal precautions before entering a place can also play a factor.

Consistency also plays a major factor, I truly believe in order to meet medical standards, the residential and commercial buildings have to be more consistent when cleaning, making it more of a factor, also a major difference is the concentrated wipes used to disinfect surfaces should be primary.  I would especially use these wipes in common areas desks, hand rails, air vent panels, all bathrooms, mail room and any other place of direct or indirect contact.

In conclusion, both places respectfully have great standards of cleaning there respectable environment, but in these times we should be empathizing excellence.  If most places find the medical and residential or commercial workplaces similar!  Why not be held to the same standard!  We are in the business of killing bacteria, not to slow them down.  I would also hold the residents or employees responsible for there stations as well.  Everyone must do there part in a collective effort to control exposure, so my last request is all staff not only porters, housekeeping, and janitors, should be responsible, especially if it is your own workspace.  Minimizing the Porters job by a small fraction, allowing them to concentrate more on common areas.

There are several reasons as to why green cleaning is a topic of importance to all living creatures. Among those many reasons are three that I would like to emphasize.

First, germs and viruses are all around us and we cannot escape that reality. In other words, germs and the threat of viruses are not going away on their own. These threats are a part of life. It is for that very reason that we all should value the importance of taking actions to protect ourselves, our children, our senior citizens, our employees, our coworkers, our neighbors, etc.

Second, if an individual is not motivated to take action to protect him/herself specifically, then he/she should highly consider another reason: the health and safety of loved ones and friends with underlying health conditions. This is a group of important people who are very prone to having medical setbacks if they are exposed to toxic chemicals.

Third, green cleaning is a topic that should be important because we all can actually play a part in improving the environment. There aren't a lot of things in life that we can actually control. But if all of us contributed collectively to this initiative (like these companies that are green certified:https://www.ijcsa.org/Green-Cleaning-Services ) it would make a huge impact towards minimizing some of the damage that ignoring it poses.

As the green cleaning industry continues to gain traction, there are a lot of companies that advertise themselves as green cleaning service providers. As a result, consumers have to be aware of at least three criteria to use when choosing the right green cleaning company for their business needs. Although there are more than three criteria to use, these three can get your search off to a good start.

Certification is the baseline criteria. Please ensure that the green cleaning company you choose shows you documentation proof of their green cleaning certifications and confirm that they are actually a part of an established association that oversees their certification and training. (i.e. https://www.ijcsa.org/Green-Cleaning-Services). True certification at least ensures that the cleaning company has obtained standard green cleaning fundamentals. Please make sure that the cleaning staff are individually certified as well (do not just rely on the company publicizing corporate certification).

Reputable green products and equipment is another criteria. The best green cleaning companies will invest in products and equipment that truly improve the air quality of the environments that they clean. Ask the cleaning company about what products and equipment they use, then research the validity of them being green-friendly products.

Knowledgeable on helping you (as a client) to obtain green certification is a huge criteria to use as well. If you, as a client, desire to obtain certification, then you should partner with a green cleaning company that understands the process well enough that can assist you in reaching that goal.

Healthcare facility cleanliness is critical to stopping the spread of disease.  Especially now, during the pandemic, it's critical that people are able to use the healthcare facilities to attend to the regular health issues that normally come up and not worry that they are going to contract COVID-19 going to see a medical professional.

Understanding the process behind cleaning a medical facility properly is key.  Properly cleaning a room is systematic and should be taken seriously in order to not only disinfect the room, but also to ensure that you don't take anything with you out of the room.  The difference between cleaning and disinfecting, and understanding that disinfection is a 2 step process, is critical to getting the room in the best shape it can be to mitigate spreading disease to other patients and to the medical facility staff.

At Prospray we are committed to delivering professional disinfecting services to the medical facilities in our service are of North DFW.  We believe that understanding these processes and delivering a process driven service to the healthcare space can help drive safety in our communities, limit the spread of disease, and minimize HAI occurrence.  You can find us on the IJCSA Directory here: https://www.ijcsa.org/Janitorial-Service-Directory-Find-A-Janitorial-Service-JanitorialServices

Janitors are important to our daily lives because they keep some of the places we use in our daily lives safe and sanitary. Janitors work daily to keep high traffic areas clean. We don't always realize that places can get so dirty because attentive janitorial staff make sure to stay on top of things. When it comes to public businesses we don't realize how many people use the facilities.

With hundreds or thousands of people going into a bathroom everyday it is necessary for them to be cleaned thoroughly and often. Janitors pay attention to more than just cleaning. They can also be the front line to discovering damage or necessary repairs. They can also spot if you have any pest control issues. This can save you time and money because they spot things early.

People enjoy coming to a clean place of business. They equate a clean business with a good business. Therefore companies need janitors that way they can focus on running their business and not on the cleanliness. Janitors take the stress and worry away of having a dirty place of business.

The are a number of benefits to having your carpets or rugs cleaned by a certified IJCSA member. Carpet is a great choice in flooring because it is comfortable and appealing to the eye but it is extremely important to properly care for the carpet. Regular vacuuming and spot cleaning are essential but professional cleaning can extend the life of your carpet and improve health.

A major benefit of hiring a certified carpet cleaner is extending the life of your carpet. Trapped dirt and debris will eventually over time deteriorate the carpet fibers. Professional carpet cleaners use cleaning methods that remove the dirt, allergens, and debris deep within the fibers.

Carpet can quickly become the home to allergens, dust mites, and bacteria. These contaminants can cause increase breathing problems for those already susceptible to these particles. The high water temperature used by professional carpet cleaners fully sanitizes the carpet.

It is more critical now more than ever, with the Covid 19 pandemic, that we take preventative measures when cleaning. Cleaning should be top priority, and with that a thorough plan should be set in place. With a strong plan set in place, both the workplace and the employees  are safe.

First, we need to understand that bloodborne pathogens are found in a humans blood, vomit, saliva that could be harmful if direct contact is made causing serious diseases. These diseases include HIV, HBV, and Hepatitis. Expose ourselves to these pathogens thru our nose and mouth, but also thru cuts and scrapes on our skin.

To prevent ourselves from becoming ill, it is imperative to follow Oshas Universal Precaution, recommends that blood and certain body fluids from ALL patients be considered potentially infectious and that infection control precautions be taken to minimize the risk of exposure. Some precautions required by my cleaning employees are that they wear proper PPE including a facemask and gloves.

Cleanliness is intrinsically linked to infection prevention and control. A clean well ordered environment provides the foundation for excellent infection control practice to flourish. A clean healthcare environment is essential to the dignity and comfort of patients.,The cleaning and disinfection of surfaces in hospitals is becoming increasingly important in the multi-barrier approach for preventing infection, in addition to hand hygiene and proper reprocessing of medical devices.,
