Cleaning green has always been an option available to us as a population and it has been harnessed by people for thousands of years. These tried and true products and methods occur  naturally in nature, are safer for humans and animals alike and do our planet good.

Products like vinegar, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, olive oil, citrus, borax and others have been used in cleaning for a very long time and can create just as effective a solution to cleaning and disinfection as a chemical cleaner can. These naturally occurring ingredients do not cause the harm that chemically engineered cleaning products do.

Human health should be one high consideration when choosing to clean green. Chemical laden products can cause acute and chronic health problems to humans. Chemical burns to skin, organ damage, respiratory distress and hormonal imbalances can all occur due to cleaning with chemicals or having those chemical residues left behind. Chronic health problems can happen including long-term damage to organs, COPD and even cancer, hastening the mortality of the person involved in using those products.

Humans are not the only creatures effected by the use of these chemically engineered cleaning products. All animals can be effected by these chemicals making their way into the water and food supplies, house pets may be effected by cleaning with those products while they are present etc. Our planet has a fragile ecosystem and we should take that into consideration as well, when choosing products to clean with. Cleaning with green cleaning products, which occur in nature, do not contribute to the decline of populations of plants and animals; these cleaning compounds are not leading to the destruction of our environment.

Green cleaning is an important consideration to make when choosing a cleaning company for your location. If a company cleaning green is important to you,  then it is easy to find a company qualified to handle your space using only naturally occurring ingredients that are found in nature. Search the IJCSA green cleaning directory to find a service provider near you, at: https://www.ijcsa.org/Green-Cleaning-Services

The janitorial staff is amongst the most important and crucial members of any organization, without properly trained janitors most companies loose profits every quarter and never figure out why. Here's 2 examples how companies loose money by not having a properly trained janitorial staff like IJCSA members:

Company sickness - Many offices have a cleaning company that comes in on a regular basis. They empty the rubbish, wash windows, dust, sweep, mop, and anything else that your company wants to pay them for. However, they don't take the time to clean & disinfect high touch areas or even worst they're not using the correct chemicals or equipment. If you want to accomplish that feat, you are pretty much on your own.

If your office has a very high rate of people getting sick with colds and the flu, talk to your cleaning crew find out if they have been properly trained and certified by a reputable organization such as IJCSA . Make sure they understand just how important it is to keep each office clean & sanitized. It can lead to employees feeling better and that will result in fewer sick days and more productivity.

Floods & Water Damage - Usually most floods and water damage happens after hours when the all a companies employees are gone for the day, usually the first person to find water damage is the janitorial staff. If the janitorial staff has been trained properly they will know exactly what to do and who to contact in case of emergency.

How To Choose Your Commercial Cleaning Company:

    Picture

Finding the right cleaning company for you.

If you are like most business owners, maintaining a clean facility is important to you, but sometimes there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to keep your office clean on your own. This is where janitorial companies come into play. A qualified office cleaning company can save you time and allow you to focus on priorities. As you read this guide, you will learn how to go about selecting a commercial cleaning service that meets all of your needs.

    HOW TO GET STARTED

Often, getting started is the hardest part of finding the right janitorial company. In most areas, there are many companies that offer commercial cleaning services, so it can be overwhelming to narrow the options down to a manageable shortlist. In many cases, the internet is the best place to start doing research. Cleaning services’ official webpages and reliable consumer review sites all offer valuable insight into how various cleaning businesses operate.

    REFERENCES

Once you’ve created a list of local companies that seem as if they might meet your needs, it’s time to start contacting them with specific inquiries regarding their services. The first thing you should ask about are references. Reputable commercial cleaning businesses should have lists of references they are happy to provide to potential clients. When you contact these references, you will be able to ask important questions about a particular company’s service offerings, from their level of professionalism to their culture and responsiveness.

    INSURANCE

The type of insurance an office cleaning company carries is very important. You need to know that you, as their client, will not be on the hook if something happens to a janitorial employee on your premises. If, for example, a worker accidentally trips down the stairs in your building, you won’t be liable for medical costs if the cleaning business has liability insurance coverage. Asking to see proof of insurance before you hire an office cleaning vendor is a wise move. It is also essential to learn what sorts of insurance are required by your state. Thus, any company that doesn’t abide by state laws and standards should be removed from your list of choices.

    CLEANING SUPPLIES

Different commercial cleaning companies use different types of cleaning supplies. Before you proceed with hiring a company, make sure you talk to them about the products they have available. Some janitorial services use only conventional cleaning products while others chose green cleaning products. If any of your staff members have allergies, or you have a strong preference for eco-friendly cleaning solutions, this will be a crucial aspect of your decision-making process.

    EXPERTISE IN YOUR SECTOR

Medical cleaning, for instance, is more involved than merely cleaning an office building on a weekly basis. Safety training is a priority in medical facilities because cleaners run into issues that are unique to that industry. Additionally, having a focus on cleaning high-touch areas such as exam rooms, patient rooms, and restrooms is critical. Specialty training including cleaning technician certifications establish the cleaning company as an expert.

    QUALITY VS QUANTITY

The biggest area where you see quality over quantity prevail is in the auto industry. Trying to compete on price can mean choosing between an inferior car with more repairs, vs a more superior car with a full warranty. Many do not understand how cleaning companies quote their services. To compete in pricing, numerous cleaning companies will underestimate the amount of time it takes to clean in order to quote the lowest price. However, when a business underestimates the amount of time it takes to clean your business thoroughly-just to gain your services, the cleaning will undoubtedly be lacking.

Having a mold cleaning program can eliminate the threat from molds. Some people think mold is not a big problem, so it is rarely an issue that is attacked. What people do not realize is once there is moisture present, mold attaches itself right to it, and grows and expands very quickly. Your home should mean alot more to you to keep up with it, so the last thing you need is for mold to attack your home.

Things become worse once it starts to attack your overall health, and not taking care of mold can become detrimental. Why take the chance of exposing you and your loved ones to such a risk? Mold cleaning programs will make your house better, and improve ones health. Your home is one of the best things you can have, and protecting it is your responsibilty.

The following are reasons why a homeowner should hire a certified IJCSA Residential Cleaning Service company for their home. It all starts off with providing yourself and/or family with the safest and cleanest home. IJCSA members who are certified understand the benefits of giving a professional job for their client. Not only is their client satisfied about the work that is done, recommendations can then be made afterwards. Being certified is not a walk through job afterwards. Certified members must take the precautions of what the cleaning job requires.

Here at IJCSA, members are trained about the first step when securing a cleaning job to the last step of finishing the cleaning job. Ads are an important way to get a company exposed for new clientele. IJCSA members are trained about the professional steps in doing so. Then members must provide free estimates after checking the home. The company and client must then agree on the service and price. After agreement, the client will detail out preferences. This will lead to a customized service report with an SDS (Safety Data Sheet) about the chemicals that will be used in the home.

In the report, the company will determine which rooms will need special attention, which chemicals to use for certain surfaces, whether a wet or dry room will need a red cloth (for wood), blue cloth (for glass), or white cloth (for all other surfaces).

These professional tactics help the client feel comfortable with the job. After the job is complete, the home is left in a professional appearance. The homeowner or family will then come home to a clean environment, feeling safe when they touch cleaned surfaces. Not only will they feel safe, they can also focus on their day to day duties. This leads to increased time and less stress worrying about having to clean the home on their own.

These are key advantages on why a homeowner should hire a certified residential cleaning service individual or company when considering to have their home cleaned. They will be provided with the best service, leaving their home cleaner than ever, and a safe state of mind.
