IJCSA's Green Cleaning Directory is an excellent resource for anyone concerned with the harmful short and long term effects of traditional cleaning chemicals.

Even areas with heavy traffic can now be cleaned without such chemicals.

To complicate things further, as reported in the Environmental Working Group's "Cleaners Hall of Shame" report, only 7% of cleaning solutions even adequately disclose their own ingredients. That means in addition to the known concerns there is no way to tell what other issues they may be causing.

Chemicals in standard cleaners have been found to irritate the skin, causing rashes and even chemical burns. Contact with the eyes can be devastating.

Others are harmful even when not touched directly. The study found that 53% of all cleaners tested contained lung-harming ingredients and carcinogens.

Natural and eco-friendly alternatives have been shown to perform as good or better under most circumstances, making the choice to go green an easy one for most conscientious companies and facilities.

Did you know that cleaning products are largely unregulated with around 70% of conventional cleaning products containing harsh chemicals unapproved by the EPA? It’s no wonder more and more people are turning to Eco-friendly cleaning products and cleaning services.

Studies have shown that using a household cleaning spray even just once a week in your home or office raises the risk of developing asthma. There are many cleaning service companies that are committed to keeping their staff, their clients and the environment healthier and safer by implementing Green Cleaning Practices.

Your health and your family’s is the most important thing to all of us in the green cleaning industry. I feel one of the biggest benefits of being green cleaning certified is the lasting effects it will have on our planet. Using regular cleaning products that have toxic chemicals in them are being released into the air and into the water. Our planet is very good at detoxing itself, however, if we continue to contribute to releasing all these toxic chemicals we aren’t helping. We are making it worse. In this article I will be going over many benefits of being green cleaning certified but, this I feel is one of the most important reasons.

Being green cleaning certified you’ll have a knowledge of products and what chemicals to look for in them. Certain chemicals, especially when mixed together, are downright dangerous. A benefit of your company being green cleaning certified is it will help prevent people from becoming sick from the cleaning chemicals they are using. It will create a safer environment for you and your employees.

I know I am not the only who can’t stand the smell of regular cleaning products. I dread the days our cleaning lady mops the floors because of the chemicals that are in the detergent being used. By being green cleaning certified, you can find products to switch out that will help clean up your indoor air and the effects it has on you and your employees. Did you know that the use of conventional cleaning products can contribute to higher air pollution indoors than outdoors?  Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which have been associated with a host of health problems like damage to the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system, are released when products are used and stored and can also linger in the air long after use.

Having someone in your company being green cleaning certified, and switch to using green cleaning products, you are making a vote to protect the environment so to speak. Most green cleaning products are made using sustainable practices and naturally derived, safe, non-toxic, and biodegradable ingredients that do not negatively impact the environment. This speak volumes to the community. You are setting an example to companies and individuals surrounding you.

The importance of cleaning employees and staff knowing about bloodborne pathogens is mainly for the avoidance of contraction of these infectious  microorganisms.

All cleaning industry employees and staff is vulnerable to expose to these infectious microorganisms not only for health care facilities and hospitals. It can  be transferred through needles, mucus membrane, or mouth.

These infectious micro-organisms can cause hepatitis B (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Care must be taken all the time in handling rubbish especially with needles and cleaning blood if somebody got cut.

Feel Safe When Hiring A Trained IJCSA Member Company To Perform Any Cleaning That You Require.
