One of the advantages of being an IJCSA member is the access to resources for  one low cost.  A very good resource is locating Green Cleaning Providers by using the Green Cleaning Service Directory.

Did you know this about Alkyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanols - that Researchers in England have found that in trace amounts they activate estrogen receptors in cells, which in turn alters the activity of certain genes. For example, in experiments they have been found to stimulate the growth of breast cancer cells and feminize male fish.  Yet, it is found in: Laundry detergents, all-purpose cleaners, hard surface cleaners.

Did you know this about fluoride - that it is more toxic than lead, and only slightly less toxic than arsenic.  Also did you know this about fluoride - for Children under 6, who have not yet mastered the art of not swallowing dental products, should probably not use them, as there is enough fluoride in them to be fatal.

The above information and much, much, more is available in the "Green" certification process.

Customer service should be at the center of your company’s core values.  In fact, not just customer service but excellent customer service.  Here are some examples of excellent customer service: courtesy and polite service to all staff and customers; understanding and addressing the customers’ needs; follow-up even when not required; addressing issues promptly, to the customers’ satisfaction; and understanding that every employee or hired independent contractor is responsible for exemplifying excellent customer service.

The members of IJCSA (IJCSA Business Directory) that I have had the good fortune to connect with have been very helpful and responsive to my needs. Even when I asked some basic questions, I did not get the sense that they felt , “I cannot believe he asked that question.”  I am quite pleased with the customer service provided by IJSCA members.

To get streak free glass and windows add 1/2 cup of  vinegar to a gallon of water put in a sprayer and apply. using recycled materials such as newspaper will leave behind a wonderful appearance and a very happy customer. Vinegar can also be used as a defoamer in a carpet cleaning machine recovery tank! The list goes on and on!

Keep it Clean Corp. has one clear objective that relates to green cleaning: to enhance environmental health and workplace safety.

At KICC we are worried about our environmental future in terms of community, family, and the world. This is why we need a whole new approach to facility cleaning and maintenance. By using more ecologically-friendly products including green cleaning formulations that can provide health benefits, improved productivity and community relations, cost savings and reduced liability.

“Keep it Clean…Responsibly Clean” We recognize that cleaning products and practices have a direct impact on quality of life. We therefore strive to be good stewards when maintaining facilities, which is about “caring” for a building and going far beyond providing qualified janitorial services using green products that are as effective as traditional products but that do not contain harsh ingredients for the facility and community.

In today's environmentally focused world, it's important to have a good up-to-date green cleaning program.  Not only will you and your employees be able to actively respect and protect the environment of your client's homes and businesses, you will in fact be able to increase your business.  The benefits then, are two-fold and immeasurable.

When the public know that your company cares about the environment and have their best, best interests at heart, they trust you more.  When the public trusts you, they feel more comfortable spending their money with you.  Money though is not the only thing we want.  We all want to impact and take part in our communities.   By adopting green cleaning programs we're able to stand with our communities for a healthier tomorrow.

    Customers are people, too!

To truly master excellence in Janitorial Cleaning, a company must master customer service. The keys to good customer service are -

    1) Listening to the customer to find out exactly what they think makes a building clean and well-maintained. Each customer and facility is different.

    2) Documenting/Remembering key elements about their industry, facility and even the individual themselves to help the contractor to meet and exceed that particular customer's needs.

    3) Continually maintaining open communication so that concerns/problems are identified and resolved quickly before the customer considers looking elsewhere for excellent service.

Think about an occasion where you were given excellent customer service and how it made you feel. Was there -

    - Mutual respect and concern for the problem and the desire by both parties to resolve the issue quickly?

    - Confidence in the company and individual who was servicing you? This confidence is achieved by informing the customer what exactly will be accomplished and sticking to it!

    - Relief that someone who was considered the industry leader and authority was handling the job?

The last thing a facility manager/property manager needs are complaints from employees or tenants. If care and concern are truly felt by the customer representative, the job is handled thoroughly and with the utmost customer satisfaction.

As a cleaning service provider I want to also provide the option to my clients, of having their home cleaned with  products that don't harm their health. since many people suffer allergies and some people even use our cleaning service because they have a new born baby at home . or a family member with more serious health problems , or simply they like the idea of better having their house chemical free

I want to be the one that not only provides a cleaning service. but also provides the option of having a green clean home. And being a green cleaning certified will give my clients the relief of hiring someone who actually knows and provides what they need.
