How Important Are Janitors & Janitorial Staff to Our Daily Lives? that it is really important know because they are essential workers. During the pandemic that started in late 2019, they played a extremely important role to overcome that disease. In addition, they are super important since they help to keep up clean schools, workplaces, churches and so on. That is very important because it helps to keep us away from others diseases as well. However, janitors, and janitorial staff must be properly trained to perform their important role in our lives.

Well trained janitorial staff is very important and for that reason I believe having this training in IJCSA is really helping because it teach us how to do it all. I have been doing the janitor job for many years, and I learned more things during this training. For example, in the other janitor company that I used to work I was told how  to use the SDS manual and some things and that  was it. Now that I am doing this training, I learned that we must follow the " OSHA Exposure Control Plan" in case we have an incident in our daily assignments. In this training I learned the follow protocols to do our job well.

Janitors and Janitorial staff play an important role in our lives because they help us to keep our places safe, clean, and disinfected. They help us to identify identify, correct, and prevent hazardous situations. For example, they help us to keep hallways clean and free of debris and making sure that there is not slipping hazard. They disposal trash and recycle items to keep our places clean and ready to use. Janitors and janitorial staff are important to us because they keep clean and disinfected our bathroom, floors and all our  places in general. They help us to prevent and overcome pandemic such as the one of Corvid 19 Pandemic. For all this they are really important to us in our lives.

    IJCSA Customer Service Certification

What great customer service is, in regards to operating a janitorial or cleaning service, is always being there for your managers. For example, great customer service, in regards to my company, would be weekly check-ups, meetings, and training with the management staff on site where we may have service. Showing the managers that they are working with a company that cares for each property individually goes a long way. One more point I'd like to make is constant availibilty. This goes off holding weekly gatherings and training, however, even if you cannot make it in person, your cell-phone should be your best-friend.

Looking at a few of the members in the IJCSA in Illinois, I found that there communication is constantly superb. The members of the IJCSA put their clientele first before themselves. This is what makes them strive as successful members and managers. Customer service to any IJCSA member, is very important, if not the single most important trait.

    Exposure Risk

Bloodborne pathogens are infectious microorganisms in the human blood that can cause disease in humans. Cleaning staff working in healthcare, residential or public spaces may come into contact with blood or other bodily fluids during their cleaning duties. This exposure puts them at risk of contracting serious diseases like HIV or Hepatitis B or C. Proper training equips them with the knowledge and ability to handle contaminated situations safely, utilizing proper cleaning procedures to prevent infection and protect their health.

    Employee Health and Safety

To reduce or eliminate the hazards of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, employers must implement an exposure control plan with details on employee protection measures. A written plan that details how to reduce exposure and what to do if an exposure occurs, regular training, ensuring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and using universal standards to reduce exposure to harmful agents are essential for employee health and safety.

    Legal Compliance

Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) training is legally required for employees who may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mandates this training. Employers must ensure that their workers receive regular training that covers all elements of the standard including, but not limited to : information on bloodborne pathogens and diseases, methods used to control occupational exposure, hepatitis B vaccine and medical evaluation and post exposure follow up. The importance of properly cleaning healthcare facilities cannot be overstated, for the record all facilities in all different professions should be as clean as can be, but in particular for the medical field, it needs to be especially clean. When in a place that deals with patients and medical staff, that place is a breeding ground for all kinds of viruses to spread around.

Another thing to emphasize is the proper wearing of PPE, as easy as it sounds, it's easy to forget about or brush off sometimes, but when you don't wear PPE you are opening up you're body to all kinds of viruses and pathogens. Plus, not just your body, but other people are being jeopardized as well, you could be carrying germs and not even realizing it because symptoms haven't manifested.

Finally, to sum it all up, we all want to be as safe as we can so patients can stay safe and medical staff can stay safe as well. As custodial staff, everyone's counting on us to keep the buildings clean and germ free. We can only do that if we follow the proper CDC and WHO guidelines as well as our instructions for the particular facilities we're working on.

As cleaning staff, we must do all we can to keep our buildings as sanitary as possible. Therefore it is of utmost importance that we take every precaution, and in this case we are talking about mold. Roughly 40% of buildings in the United States have at least some amount of mold and we need to know how to tackle it. Now there are different types of mold, but if left unchecked it can turn into a huge problem and can cause all kinds of medical problems and even result in death.

I intend to use the new knowledge I will learn to help identify any mold that may form in the buildings my crew and I work on. Together we will soon be able to get any mold hazards taken care of and keep our city safe. Finally, I foresee us all learning about this on a personal level and helping not only ourselves but others with any mold problems that may arise. Perhaps from water damage, or various leaks or what have you.

I from the City of Wilsonville am so very grateful to have taken the Master Green Cleaning Certification test, I can't wait to use my newfound knowledge to help keep the city not only clean, but green. I loved learning about the different methods of green cleaning, I never knew that you could mix common household ingredients together to clean so many different things. Not to mention, the cost efficiency is undeniable and that it's cheaper to make your own products as opposed to buying chemicals.

I also learned that it's dangerous to mix certain ingredients together, not just bleach and ammonia, but mixing bleach and rubbing alcohol can create chloroform, which is highly toxic. Mixing things white vinegar with water or baking soda on the other hand is perfectly safe. Don't be afraid to experiment with different things but definitely use discretion and do plenty of research before mixing if you aren't certain.

The last thing I'll say is the one of the greatest benefits is the safety and lack of dangerous chemicals so pets and children along with people with allergies or asthma need not be concerned. Whatever your industry may be, it's always worth it to go for the green option, it will not only save you money but it will protect you and your colleagues. After all, we all live on this planet and we it to her and our fellow man to try our best to do our jobs not only as efficiently as possible, but as eco-friendly as possible.
