Why is it so important that employees and staff know about bloodborne pathogens? We all want to stay out of harms way so when your staff knows they are likely to stay out of bad situations and take extra precautions.  Bloodborne pathogens can be very dangerous to anyone and could even kill you.  You should always wear you PPE to avoid any possible issues.

Always continue to teach your staff and offer as much information on bloodborne pathogens.  We all want to stay safe and avoid being in any harm.

It is a team effort to stop the spread of deseases.

Cleaning employees play a major role in the safety of personnel, especially in an environment where bloodborne pathogens are likely to be. Without their continual effort keeping such areas clean and sanitary, it is more likely that exposure to bloodborne pathogens occur more often. With consistency in training and cleaning of all bloodborne pathogen affected areas, exposures can be reduced.

Bloodborne pathogen training will introduce the safe practices and procedures used to keep employees and patients safe. Knowing what to look for in an area where bloodborne pathogens are likely present will help an employee avoid a situation, such as a needle stick or accidentally grabbing a hidden blood-soaked blanket with bare hands. Such a situation would be extremely undesirable and must be avoided at all costs.

Training will not only introduce an employee to the safe handling of bloodborne pathogens and other hazardous materials. Training will also teach an employee what to do in a situation such as an accidental needle stick. Furthermore, training in bloodborne pathogens will help a company know what procedures need to be taken, who to notify, and how long to keep post incident documentation.

Chemicals used for cleaning can have detrimental effects on both the planet and health. Depending on the individual substances used, their ingredients, and how they are disposed of, can cause serious effects. Some of these effects are:

    1. Environmental Impacts:

Water Pollution: Many cleaning chemicals contain substances that are not easily decomposable and can end up in waterways. These substances have the potential to harm aquatic life and disturb ecosystems when they get into bodies of water. When these chemicals enter bodies of water, they can harm aquatic life and disrupt ecosystems.

Air Pollution: Volatile organic compounds found in some cleaning products can evaporate into the atmosphere, contributing to indoor and outdoor air pollution.

Ecosystem Disruption: The chemicals in cleaning products can affect various species and disrupt the natural order of ecosystems, which are essential for plant and animal growth.

    2. Health Impacts:

Respiratory Issues: Many cleaning chemicals release fumes and particles that can irritate the respiratory system, leading to symptoms like coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath.

Skin Irritation: Direct contact with certain cleaning chemicals can cause skin irritation and even result in chemical burns.

Allergies and Sensitivities: Some cleaning chemicals contain allergens or can trigger allergic reactions and sensitivity in individuals, which can lead to symptoms like rashes, sneezing, and watery eyes.

Repeated exposure to certain cleaning chemicals has also been linked to more serious health issues, including an increased risk of certain cancers, neurological disorders, and even organ damage.

To assist in avoiding the impacts that cleaning chemicals can cause, it is important to choose safer alternatives, like natural or “green cleaning products” and adopt best practices to minimize these negative impacts.

Many common household cleaning products can cause health issues and have effects on our environment.

Green cleaning is using cleaning methods with environmentally-friendly ingredients to preserve human health and environmental quality. Some of the benefits to working with a company that uses environmentally-friendly cleaning products can include:

-Health and Safety Improvements: Eco-friendly cleaning products have a lower concentration of harmful ingredients, which reduces the chance of skin irritation, allergies or respiratory diseases. This is of special importance to individuals with sensitivities, allergies or asthmatic conditions.

-Improved Indoor Air Quality: Conventional cleaning supplies frequently emit volatile organic compounds into the air, which can cause indoor air pollution and have a serious effect on respiratory health. Little or no volatile organic compounds that are found in green cleaning products translates to better indoor air quality and a healthier living or working environment.

-Improved efficiency and morale of building occupants

Additionally, Green cleaning can decrease environmental effects since ingredients are compounded to lessen water contamination, air contamination, and the by and large environmental impression of cleaning exercises.

At IJCSA, we believe in the power of environmentally-friendly ingredients to restore balance to your surroundings.

With the advantages it can offer, why not change to Green Cleaning and pave the way towards a better, more healthier and sustainable way of life by finding a Green Cleaning Service provider today?
