The importance of cleaning staff knowing about bloodborne pathogens is because all bodily fluids are to be seen as infected to be safe.

All cleaning employees everywhere come in contact with a bodily fluid of some sort whether they realize or not so for the safety of everyone involved it is important to have knowledge of bloodborne pathogens.
