The importance of cleaning employees & staff knowing about bloodborne pathogens

17 May 2023 8:21 PM | Deleted user

Bloodborne pathogens are infectious microorganisms that can cause serious or life-threatening diseases to the exposed employees. The infection begins when the bodily fluid of an infected person enters the bloodstream of a healthy person. It can be through contaminated needle sticks, human bites, cuts, abrasions, or through mucous membranes. The disease that you can contract are but not limited to, hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Due to the dangerous nature of bloodborne pathogens, it is a necessity to take precautionary measures and to be trained. Maintaining personal hygiene, using personal protective equipment (PPE), vaccinations, prevention, and emergency training are ways to keep a safe and healthy worker and client.

It is important to know about bloodborne pathogens so you can avoid getting sick and keep working in the field you are in. You should always treat any bodily fluids as contaminated and manipulate anything safely. Better safe than sorry. :)
