The harmful effects of using everyday cleaning chemicals compared to using natural green products

17 Aug 2023 11:04 PM | Anonymous

Everyday chemical cleaning products pose harm to our health, they contain toxic ingredients and prolonged exposure or inhalation to these chemicals can result in respiratory problems as compared to #greencleaningproducts that do not pose health effects.

Secondly, chemical cleaning products contain substances such as chlorine and ammonia which pose a threat to the environment. When these chemicals are washed down the drain, they can pollute waterways, harm aquatic life and contribute to water pollution as compared to going green when cleaning to avoid the above.

Thirdly, many cleaning chemicals release volatile organic compounds into the air which can lead to indoor air pollution. These VOCs can contribute to indoor air quality especially in poorly ventilated areas. To avoid this  shift to green cleaning products.

Cleaning products with strong acids and alkalis can be corrosive and cause damage to surfaces such as floors, countertops and furniture. With time, the repeated use of these chemicals can weaken and deteriorate surfaces, leading to costly repairs.

Lastly, cleaning chemicals can be sensitive to pets as they directly come  in contact with the surfaces and floors. By using #greencleaning products for your house / home you will be prioritizing on the health of your pets. The mentioned points are in reference to IJCSA Green Cleaning Directory.
