Bloodborne Pathogens Disinfecting

It is important to be able to wear gloves and be careful not to splash or splatter any blood or bodily fluids when cleaning.  Being a janitor you will come across a lot of cleaning of blood. Items you might have to clean of blood are linens, spills on floor from children or adults. Spills on counters.

Trash cans and biohazard containers with diseases such as HIV( Human Immunodiefiency Virus) and HBV ( Hepatitis B virus).  Thier is medicine to prevent HBV.  When beginning a job as a janitor it will require a HBV vaccine. 

Some ways you can come in contact with bloodborne pathogens are needles.  The way diseases can make their way into a the body are through moucos membranes such as the nose or mouth. As well as cuts.
