Bloodborne Pathogens

Bloodborne Pathogens training will make employees better in Health & Safety protocols. Employees who are trained in how to handle certain situations will be more confident in their roles. Exposure can happen in any industry, not just health care, so training is essential for any business and industry. You never know when you will encounter bodily fluids, touching eyes, nose, and mouth.

Training is obvious for those that work in the health field but will be effective for other industries as well. Once employees are properly trained it will make them healthier so the attendance will be better. There are approximately 3 million exposures to bloodborne pathogens. Bloodborne pathogens are not airborne, mainly through touch. The most common exposures are through needle sticks.

If someone is exposed, they must report to their supervisor and wash any needles sticks and cuts with soapy water, flush eyes with clean water, sterile solution, or saline, then report to your healthcare professionals. Anyone who is exposed should report injury no later than 1 hour after exposure, to allow reduced risk to infection. Individuals should be tested for HIV, HBV and HCV.
