Harmful Effects of Using Chemical Based Products

They may be under your kitchen sink, under your bathroom sink, or may be even sitting on the counter tops in your kitchen near your food because for all you know, it's perfectly safe.  But is it?

If you take a look at the back of a particular household cleanser it will more than likely read...Hazards to Humans or Domestic Animals. You may even see in all caps:  CAUTION and the number to the Poison Control Center.

According to Share Guide, a holistic health magazine, chemical levels can be up to 70 times higher inside our homes than out; and over 100 chemicals that are commonly found in the home have been linked to allergies, birth defects, headaches, depression and even cancer!  There has to be a better alternative.  There is.

Go green.  Exactly what is this? Green cleaning products contain organic ingredients that do not harm the environment or cause a threat to human health and the products are also biodegradable.  Going green means no more chemicals inhaled or absorbed into the skin.  Going green means improved health, environment and can even be less expensive because some products can be made in the comfort of your own home.

So how do you know if you're buying a green cleaner?  There are no warning signs like CAUTION, or DANGER.  The product will not list a fragrance as an ingredient. The cleaner will not advise you to rinse with water after cleaning a surface that comes in contact with food.  And do not forget to look for an Eco-label.
