If you work in the cleaning industry you must be prepared for anything. You never know what your walking into sometimes. One way you can prepare is by educating yourself on bloodborne pathogens, knowing the proper steps to take to prevent contact and steps to take if you do come in contact with bloodborne pathogens.                 

Bloodborne pathogen are germs in the blood that can make people sick and can be passed onto others and some cases lead to death. At work they can enter your body with any sharp object that is infected. If you know the proper steps to take then you can save your life and your coworkers. 

Being in the cleaning industry all that is vital because if you do not know how to properly disinfect, wash your hands, use universal precautions  in situations where there could be contamination of bloodborne pathogens then you are putting your life and the life of others at risk.
