BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN AND CONTAMINATION PREVENTION

When it come to bloodborne pathogens , it is important for everyone to understand that these pathogens are microscopic and not necessarily visible with the naked eye. If your work environment is in the medical cleaning field, janitorial, commercial or residential setting it is important to be mindful of the necessary procedures and precautions that is required in the prevention of contact with bloodborne pathogens.

Knowing the proper technique to follow when putting on and removing your protective gears is really important in the prevention of cross contamination. Understanding the need for color coding and following the necessary steps required when cleaning up and disposing of waste materials is crucial. Be sure to take precautions when handling linen and be on the look out for sharps as this can easily cause damage to your gloves.

Be aware of your environment; and take pride in your work space, keeping your space tidy and sanitized at all times is an additional level of protection that is important. Remember you can never be too cautious when handling something you cannot always see, follow the hand washing techniques wear your gears and be safe.
