04 Aug 2020 5:16 AM | Anonymous

It is very key and vital that cleaning employees and staff understand what bloodborne pathogens are, the risk associated with them and how to properly and safely keep yourself and others safe. Bloodborne pathogens are infectious microorganisms in human blood that can cause disease in humans. The bloodborne pathogens are not limited to hepatitis B, HIV, and hepatitis C.

Ensuring that all employees have proper PPE when performing a clean that involves bloodborne pathogens is necessary to keeping everyone safe and to also decrease possible exposure. It is important that employers provide training and education that keep all staff aware of how to best operate during a clean. It is important for all employees to understand recognize symptoms if they have come in contact with bloodborne pathogens, and what to do if they have been exposed to bloodborne pathogens.

Employers should be updating the safety police and procedures regarding bloodborne pathogens as they change, Employees should be sure to also refresh themselves so that they stay up to date or changes and procedures. It is everyone's duty to practice safe practices when handling bloodborne pathogens, it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that they work safe and clean areas completely so that whomever is in the space next is safe. It is everyone's responsibility to be safe.
