Bloodborne Pathogens

17 Aug 2020 11:07 AM | Anonymous

As a former medical worker in the Phlebotomy field, I understand with great detail the importance of Bloodborne Pathogen training for cleaning employees. There are always going to be situations you will come across that involve biohazard clean up, but blood and body fluids are one of the most important to take serious precautions with.

So many different viruses and diseases are present in Blood and body fluids, and many of them are incurable. Direct contact with these infected fluids can be detrimental to the overall health and well being of your employees. One misstep can change a persons life forever.

Things like HIV, Hep B or even more serious viruses like Ebola can be present in a single droplet of blood, and if exposed to open wounds or mucus membranes, can infect the person cleaning. Its imperative to take all necessary precautions to prevent cross contamination/infection.
