In the janitorial industry, we will inherently come into contact with various diseases, ranging from the cold and flu to HIV to the now common Covid. It is our responsibility to stop the spread of these diseases. Doing this will not only keep the public safe, but also protect ourselves and our employees.
Giving our employees and staff the proper knowledge and protection is vital in ensuring that our responsibility to them and the public is upheld. Teaching them the proper techniques of cleaning, disinfecting, and disposal of potentially hazardous materials (such as needles/trash) is key in our mission. Arming our employees with the proper equipment is also necessary. Without the proper knowledge and equipment, they risk exposing themselves and others to blood borne pathogens that could be hiding anywhere.
The health of our employees and the public is of the upmost importance. We are all exposed to diseases in our everyday lives, whether we know it or not. Because we cannot see diseases, we must treat every situation as though it is present.
