Running my sanitizing business in Florida, I have never thought about incorporating mold cleaning into my portfolio of services. Although, the state requires a license for mold remediation, I will implement some type of mold cleaning to small areas where I know my staff can handle it. In Florida we have hurricanes every year and many homes and business are affected due to flood.

Having the knowledge of how to properly clean a moldy area can help my business. Sanitizing homes and businesses, I have seen where mold could potentially be a problem in the future and I could offer a clean-up if the area is smaller than 10 square feet or at least suggest the customer to look into the damage areas.

There are advantages to hiring a cleaning company or person who is certified by IJCSA for Residential Cleaning. At IJCSA the cleaning company or person is mindful of using a set of techniques to properly and effectively clean the home.

One of the key advantages is that the Cleaning company or person always consults with the client first. We do this to make sure that we don't miss any special requests that the client has. This is important to ensure the safety of the client as well as the worker.

Another key advantage is that the cleaning company or cleaner is constantly referencing the MSDS for every product that is used. The MSDS is useful to make sure that a product doesn't contain any harmful chemicals or has any adverse reactions when used with another product.

At the clients' residents we use separate techniques for wet rooms and dry rooms. Each room has specifications on products and materials used to clean the room properly. This is very important to prevent the damage of furniture or other items in the property.

At the end of the cleaning session, the cleaning company or cleaner inspects the work before leaving the residents. We make sure that everything was done according to the requests of the clients. This is important because the client will feel that their requests matters and ensures that the relationship with the client will be a permanent one.

Bloodborne pathogen training is important in cleaning service staff and employees because you never know what you may com into contact with while you are on the job site. If you are not properly trained even the smallest accident can have the biggest consequences.

Everyone that is going to work at a location where they may come into contact with blood whether it be needles or garbage or blood soaked linen are at risk. You must always wear protective PPE for the job that you are doing at hand. If you are exposed to blood let you supervisor know right away so they can take further action and send you to get tested. Even if there is no risk of infection better to be safe then sorry

Always remember never recap a needle. Do not try to compact the trash manually by standing in the trash and jumping up and down or pushing down with your hands. If you any open wounds be sure to flush the wound and then report to your supervisor so that the right steps can be taken and reported.

We know if someone is sick, just by normal routine cleaning, extra tissue in trashcans or cleaning up bowel and recognizing the symptoms of someone being sick and taken the extra steps in cleaning to ensure the safety of those unaware that we..janitors,,saved our clients some sick time. During this time especially during this epidemic era,,IJCSA members are the best of the best, we provide a service with a educated know how and a firm understanding of the importance of what we do. Bloodborne Pathogen training is important as it will properly prepare affected workplace individuals for needed procedures and equipment when performing work.  It is also important to protect those around them while they perform their cleaning tasks.  The pathogens of concern include but are not limited to HIV, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B among others.  Bloodborne pathogens can be transmitted when body fluid(blood,Saliva, etc...) come in contact with an unprotected person.

Proper Protective equipment use is critical for protecting individuals from exposure to BBPs.  Such equipment includes gloves(latex or nitrile), gowns, masks, eye protection and face shields.  Following Universal Precautions is the approach by which all human body fluids are treated as if they are known to be infected with BBPs. By using universal precautions, when handling or cleaning items or surfaces, potential exposure is minimizes.

Finally, exercising good hygiene is key to minimizing the potential hazards when dealing with BBPs. Properly washing hands before and after potential exposure as well as throughout the day is critical.  Keeping the work area clean and free from debris will provide additional safeguards from transmission.  Training all employees in the workplace these key elements will greatly decrease potential transmission of BBPs
