Not only is this crisis causing us all to seek eduation but it also showcases what our industry should have been doing this entire time. Though I own a cleaning company I haven't been trained formally and neither has my staff for BBP.

I will be getting everyone trained to not only know the importance of BBP but additional training in different areas like PPE, infection control, ect.

In the cleaning industry, it is very important for all employees and staff to know about bloodborne pathogens, in order to ensure the safety of the clients, employees and their family, friends or whoever they might come in contact with.

Basic missteps could result in devastating and possible life threatening situations that could be avoided by being educated and following the practices you are taught. Wearing personal protective equipment, properly picking up and disposing of possible contaminants, following the disposal and color coding protocol, all help keep everyone safer.

As professionals, we also have to be alert for anyone having a point of entry, being broken skin, boils or rashes. We have to be able as employees and staff to look out for any red flags, so we all can go home safe.

Bloodborne pathogens are a serious concern for cleaning employees and staff.  It's very important that all cleaning businesses understand what hazards they possess and how to prevent exposure and the procedures for post exposure.  Bloodborne pathogens include such as HBV, HCV, and HIV.

The staff must always wear the appropriate PPE such as: Gloves and Goggles to protect themselves. OSHA has created bloodborne pathogen standards that guides employers on how to implement control measures, universal precautions, hazard communication and record keeping.

It is very important that we keep sites like this open and going. Because it is very important for our employees to know all about the dangers of bloodborne pathogens. The more we can teach them the better off in the field they and we can and will be. It is also good to teach anybody and everybody who is interested.

It is supper important to teach employees this especially before they get into the field. In my line of work doing trauma clean ups and water damages we all need to be as safe as possible. Know all of our PPE and making sure it is in good working order.

So at the end of the day. We can all make it home to our family. Because if we don't. We not only put our selves at risk we put everyone else around us at risk.

Being green cleaning certified benefits our society as a whole, potentially reducing the environmental concerns that everyone comes in contact with while using natural cleaning products. Studies show that the advertising of some cleaning products mislead the public into a false sense of security to gain market share. They are no better at killing germs or reducing the spread of infection than any other. Knowledge protects the public, certified green cleaners have meet the standards that specifically address health and safety concerns of most consumers. Products used by certified green cleaners must meet the criteria, ensuring they are environmentally safe, free of ozone depleting chemicals and less likely to be toxic to our water system. Becoming aware of the potential health consequences of some chemical products would amaze and boggle the mind. I was greatly surprised and horrified of the potential risk of using some products, it's like rolling the dice. Uncertainty of the labels meaning in product description is a indication that the use of that product may be more harmful in the long run than the dirt or germs. Read the label I think everyone will be quite surprised.
