Customer service should be at the center of your company’s core values. In fact, not just customer service but excellent customer service. How can you achieve excellent customer service? First, respect the customer/client, let them know that they are important to you and your company. This can be accomplished by listening to the customer/client and repeating pertinent information. Secondly, demonstrate empathy to show the customer/client that you understand their situation. Thirdly, provide a viable agreed upon solution.
It is not enough to just believe that the agreed upon solution worked. In order to confirm that the solution is working or worked, one must follow-up. If the solution cannot be provided within 24 hours provide the customer/client with an initial solution time-frame. Once the solution has been enacted follow-up immediately to ensure the client is pleased. Touch base with customer/client about a month after the solution has been in place. Many owners, managers, customer service representatives with International Janitorial Cleaning Service Association (IJCSA) have participated and successfully completed a Customer Service training certification.
