Blood born pathogens

02 Aug 2020 8:03 PM | Rufus Ricks

It is extremely important for janitorial personnel and staff to be familiar with the safety procedures and control plans pertinent to blood born pathogens. Janitorial personnel come in contact with body fluids while working that may be infectious.
There are safety precautions that must be followed when dealing with body fluids because there is a high degree of severity. A person’s life can be lost or preserved as a result of steps taken and precautions adhered to.
All bodily fluids should be assumed to be potentially infectious while being handled.

This is a CDC universal standard that is adopted to save lives and keep workers and the public safe. We must always follow necessary precautions and not take short cuts, to minimize the risk of exposure.
