The importance of janitors and janitorial staff in our everyday lives is paramount and a critical element on how we live, work, or conduct business; The actual appearance of an office, school, or restaurant provides an overall impression to customers, to the parents and teachers in schools, and to the owner of the business. Janitors and Janitorial staff provide cleanliness to businesses, schools, and public areas whether it’s outside or indoors, this is the reason why many organizations hire or assign personnel or professional janitorial service to ensure that cleanliness is well established and maintained.  An unclean or messy business or office diminishes the productivity level of companies and workplaces which will consequently affect a company's employees as well as the customers.

Companies also could not conduct business, for the long term without having a janitorial service in place; with all the diseases as well as pest infestations from many different parts of the world keeping the organization clean as well as the environment has taken on a complex approach; which in result requires a need for a professional cleaning solution.

Janitorial services also keep employees, customers, children, and adults safe from the spread of bloodborne pathogens and other diseases. If employees can not stay healthy at unclean organization consequently, the employee will leave the organization and find one that is clean; and customers will discontinue business with the company if it shows poor janitorial practices. In conclusion janitors and janitorial staff focus to maintain and keep any kind of office healthy and professionally clean and through the years of quality services it has shown that it is an essential part in everyday business practices.

Janitors are very important in everyday life because they are the ones who maintain the places, we visit every day, be it the office or a store. They are also the ones who keep the spaces where we interact daily with other people clean and safe. in addition to keeping the dining rooms and bathrooms running. In addition to having the proper knowledge to make use of the different chemicals that in the hands of someone without due knowledge can have an injury

Janitors help business owners focus on their business. Business owners can actually concentrate on their business activity rather than the facility cleaning. Which is in fact an important component of the business but is a task that can be time consuming, hence the importance of qualified cleaners and janitors.  A dirty environment is disturbing for the mind. It's very hard to be productive when everything around is in rough conditions. So, when it comes to peace of mind for the employees and employers qualified janitors is key.

Another aspect of the importance of janitors is health. Specially now days with COVID 19. A clean/disinfect work space helps preventing the propagation of viruses that can cause potential illnesses. The CDC and other cleaning associations have put together cleaning guidelines because they acknowledge the importance of cleaning properly. Be it because of COVID 19 or other viruses like the common flue, janitors play an important task in it, because they are the ones providing an essential service for physical and mental health.

It is important to know about bloodborne pathogens because if exposed, it can cause diseases such as HBV, and HIV. You also can learn to protect yourself and others when working with infected people or fluids. As a cleaning company we have to be well aware of what we are up against, the best Offense is Defense, and you have to be able to know everything about the subject to create a defense mechanism.

Bloodborne pathogens are infectious microorganisms found in human blood that can cause disease in humans, the primary infections associated with bloodborne pathogens being HIV, HBV, and HCV. In the context of cleaning, the lack of proper training for employees increases the risk of infection dramatically. Which can cause severe disease and possibly even death.

OSHA regulations, when followed properly, ensures the minimal risk of infection for employees who are handling potentially infectious bodily fluids and SHARPS. In the context of cleaning services, the education of employees is a crucial part to OSHA procedure and lays the groundwork for safe practice while cleaning.

Some of these procedures that are implemented to minimize the spread of bloodborne pathogens include universal precautions, PPE, and proper disposal of SHARPS. Universal precautions minimize risk of infection by training employees to treat all bodily fluids as potentially infectious. Employees are to be trained to use PPE properly to protect themselves and their peers from disease by minimizing contact with bodily fluids. Educating employees on the proper handling of SHARPS prevents them from being exposed to infection through cuts or punctures of the skin while disposing of SHARPS. These procedures are just some of the many important precaution's employees must be aware of while cleaning in a potentially infectious environment to protect both the cleaning staff and the community as a whole.

Bloodborne pathogens are pathogenic microorganisms that can be present in human blood and cause diseases in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, HIV and HBV. Therefore, blood is a potentially infectious material and how you take care of waste materials can literally be the difference between life or death.

Most infection occurs when the infectious pathogens come in contact with an employee's mucous membranes, such as the nose or mouth- and also open cuts or breaks in the skin. Although bodily fluids can easily contain pathogenic microorganisms, they can easily be protected against by using universal precautions.

The CDC came up with a universal precaution approach by treating all contaminated materials as contaminated with bloodborne pathogens.. It is very important to wear personal protective gear when handling laundry and cleaning up waste to avoid the spread of infection and disease. If there is any chance that an employee has come in contact with bloodborne pathogens, it is important for them to notify a physician immediately.
