Amid the Covid 19 pandemic it is more important than ever for health care workers and facilities to understand the importance of proper cleaning. Controlling the spread of infections or viruses is vitally important in many different locations and settings such as schools and the workplace but it is even more crucial for healthcare providers. People visiting or receiving treatment in these environments are already vulnerable to the spread of infection, so making sure that effective cleaning regimes are in place for waiting rooms, corridors, reception areas and wards is key.

A clean and welcoming environment is also important from an aesthetic point of view , it makes the patient feel as though they are in a safe germ free environment. especially now with the growing cases of Covid 19 in all healthcare facilities we need to make the patients feel safe and keep them in a clean, sanitized environment.

Healthcare-associated infections is a term that covers a wide range of infections including MRSA, E.coli and C.diff and Covid are infections that develop as a direct result of medical or surgical treatment or contact in a healthcare setting. Healthcare providers can help to minimize the risk of cross contamination in a number of ways including:

-Proper training of staff in cleaning and disinfecting practices

-Proper Use of PPE from the staff

-Keeping a clean environment for patients and staff

Given the physical size of most healthcare settings, and the fact that many operate on a 24-7 basis, floor cleaning machines need to be compact and maneuverable to reach into tight corners and fit into smaller areas. They must also be as quiet as possible, especially where cleaning has to be carried out near patients, and safe, both for the machine operator and for other staff and patients. Above all, they have to be capable of doing tasks that are particularly important, like being able to clean under beds and furniture.

During the planning  and implementation of a crime scene cleanup and janitorial business, I began to see the importance of having a carpet cleaning service available. While cleaning up after a tragic events or simply preparing a home for sale, carpet cleaning is a definite step in preparing or restoring an area. Carpet cleaning is an added value and benefit to my company. Customers will have a company that can cover all aspects of their cleaning needs.

I plan to implement my carpet cleaning service immediately which will allow my company to handle cleanup for any request. I am purchasing a commercial grade carpet and floor cleaner. During the advertising of our services I can include cleaning of carpets and upholstery that have been affected by stains, pet and other odors, blood and body fluid contamination and continued regular maintenance/care of a customer's carpeting. By being a certified IJCSA member, I have the tools available to research on proper removal of odors and stains that might otherwise be difficult for a small business. I am able to build a step-by-step program for cleaning and for employees to utilize to perform carpet cleaning to the highest degree and satisfaction to a customer.

Currently, I have used only water with detergent to clean mold in area that I have had issues with when doing mold remediation. I know that this is the most appropriate was to remove and clean after a mold issue. I haven't had to use bleach or a biocide as a additional cleaning product. I had recently read this when researching with the EPA a few month ago and have had successful results with no return of mold after remediation.

During my assessment of services that I will be offering, I decided to implement a mold cleaning inspection and remediation program. This was mainly due to the area I reside in and will be operating my business within. Texas has high humidity and high likelihood of flooding in my service area. We have 4-5 floods a year and during these times, the need for mold remediation is high and a busy service in the Houston area. This is a around the clock issue and can bring high revenue yields to my company, while mitigating risks for our customers.

Mold remediation services are very important in this area. Constant wet conditions and humidity make it more crucial to find a mitigation service. Mold is a continuous and reoccurring issue in many residences and businesses. The demand is high for these services in the area and with proper assessments and remediation, can be a benefit to customers. There is already a large group of residents that have major health problems and being able to assist in removing one trigger for their breathing problems will be beneficial to the company and customer.
