Even though a mold certification is not required in my state, I want our customers to feel safe knowing they are hiring specialists that have taken the time to learn more about this matter and how to treat it if we encounter it at their house.

When mold damage occurs in a home, it spreads quickly. It is hard to find the source of the fungus, this it got into my attention one time that I went to clean a bathroom for a customer and I believe that was the first time I saw a really bad case of mold. I knew it was mold , but I didn't know how to advice my customer regarding this problem, but he was so nice enough to say , it was ok, he will try to find an expert on that , since , at that moment I went there to clean his bathroom only and I didn't see it before on an inspection since he didn't have the time but it needed his bathroom to be clean.

Even though I didn't know how to treat it , I had a really good PPE , proper to clean it, now I am happy to say I know what exactly to do if I encounter a situation like that again thanks to this course

Being a green cleaning certified company can and will benefit my company, my clients, and the environment. Being green certified proves to your clients that you are trained experts within the field.  They know they can get the clean that they want without using the harsh chemicals.

Speaking for my company, green cleaning is much cheaper than the harsher cleaning alternatives.  My employees are safer when using natural products as they don’t have to worry about inhaling harsh chemicals or having skin irritations from it. Employees will also be a lot more knowledgeable when it comes to actual chemical ingredients.

From a client’s point of view, it gives them cleaning options because a lot of cleaning companies do not offer green cleaning.  Green cleaning is better for people with allergies and asthma because the fumes from the harsher chemicals are known to exacerbate these conditions. Green cleaning will leave a home or workspace smelling naturally fresh.

From an environmental view, green cleaning does not release toxic fumes into the air which is great for the air quality (especially in a client’s home). Green cleaning makes the surfaces last within a home (such as counter-tops) because the harsher chemicals cause damage over time. Bloodborne Pathogens can be harmful or even deadly for employees who come in daily contact with them.  It is imperative to follow the Osha guidelines in order to keep yourself and others around you safe.  As stated in the video, this can be a matter of life and death.

Pathogens carrying diseases such as HBV & HIV can travel through the nasal cavities and the mouth if proper protective equipment is not worn.  Goggles, gloves, and sanitizing cleaning materials keep employees safe from bloodborne pathogens if they are utilized correctly.  It is also imperative that the proper cleaning and storage methods are utilized as well.

All staff that could come in contact with bloodborne pathogens should be aware of proper cleaning methods to ensure no one gets sick.  Equipment should not be reused and surfaces should not be cleaned in a manner that allows for the infected items to spread.  Storage containers for contaminated items should be designated and shouldn't allow for any leakage or spilling of the contaminated items.  Following these guidelines will ensure the safety of all workers that come in contact with bloodborne pathogens.
