Janitors and Janitorial Staff are just as important as the rest of the employees of an organization. The Janitors and Janitorial staff work to ensure that all employees and clients have a safe and clean environment. The Janitorial staff is taking care of the work that often goes unnoticed initially, but can leave a negative or positive impact for the organization overall.

The Janitors take the necessary safety precautions to properly clean the facilities, especially the restrooms, eating areas and rooms to prevent the spread of germs. Following the guidelines of the MSDS and PPE protocol also protects the janitorial staff and promotes a safe work environment.

The Janitors and Janitorial companies that are certified by IJCSA are trained on the proper precautions to take when cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, offices, schools and other facilities to prevent the spread of Bloodborne pathogens. The Custodial Janitorial Certification and Course are approved by the OSHA guidelines.

Individual precaution and safety is very important for employees who deals with equipment and other materials that come in contact with blood. Knowing the processes to take when cleaning and disposing the materials is important to the safety and health of those who are doing the cleaning and also those they may come in contact with.

If the procedures of disposing or packaging the materials correctly is ignored, the bloodborne pathogens could be spread and cause a massive situation that could have been avoided if the rules and guidelines were followed properly.

The cleaning and care when dealing with bloodborne pathogens when done correctly will make sure that the safety of the cleaning employees, their family, and surrounding associates will be protected also. Making sure that hands are washed and reporting of any incidents will isolate the matter and initiate great precautions that will eventually prove itself successful in preventing major issues.

I am a firm believer that anybody can do anything they want to do if they put there mind to. However, there is always security in having someone who is train and knowledgeable in the task at hand. Someone who knows the tools and the right chemicals that are to be used properly . Here at DIllingham Maid Services each of our employees are trained on the equipment and tested to make sure they have full understanding.

Having someone who is train will ensure you that there will not be any tears rips in your carpet. From personal experience hiring someone to clean the carpets in our house before my sisters wedding and he had no idea what he was doing he left a huge stain in the formal dining room. I made sure each one of my staff is certified on equipment and chemicals. We will leave your carpets looking like the day you 1st moved in. If you are not happy for whatever reason we will do our best to fix the issue. For without you there would be no us.

IJCSA is the International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association, a group of trained cleaning services which specialize in professional cleaning and disinfection services.  When looking for a cleaning professional, sometimes you wonder how safe the chemicals are going to be.  I know it has always been an issue for me, to know which chemicals are being used and making sure they are properly rinsed and there are no harmful byproducts.

That is exactly why the IJCSA has developed a Green Cleaning Master Certification, to ensure all of the vendors are trained in order to keep the byproducts and toxicity into light.  There are natural ways to develop cleaning procedures, and the IJCSA is a great source to ensure your cleaning service is up to date on all of the safe cleaning practices and chemicals.

If you would like to find a cleaning service near you that has trained professionals that are ready to handle your needs?  Click on the link and find a service provider in your area.  https://www.ijcsa.org/Green-Cleaning-Services

Please consider the environment before the use of dangerous chemicals.

It is important for cleaning employees and cleaning companies to understand how to protect themselves when dealing with blood borne pathogens. The cleaning employees are responsible to disinfect and clean areas where there was possible exposure of hazardous materials and pathogens to protect other employees and others around them.

The use of PPEs, Universal Precautions and OSHA guidelines ensure that the cleaning employees are properly discarding materials, human waste, needles or anything that came into contact with blood. These guidelines outline how to properly label the type of waste using color coded bins and and how to disinfect the materials used to clean the potentially infected area.

In the event of potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, the employees have to immediately inform their employer and follow the proper protocols to prevent potential spread. Once an Occupational Exposure has been recorded it has to be followed up and make sure to monitor new symptoms to prevent the spread to another employee or to the clients.

Mandating this bloodborne pathogen safety course is for the protection of you, your family and friends, your co-workers and those that use the facilities that you clean. Taking this course informs you, and your company, of the need for them to provide you with the proper PPE and to provide you with the proper procedures and solutions to be effective in the environment you clean.

Now that you have the proper PPE, procedures and solutions, this course now gives you direction to help keep you safe on the job if you come into contact with items that could cause you to become ill or infected. And, as you go about your job cleaning and disinfecting this course also helps you understand that you are not just "cleaning" but you are making an area safer for those that use the facility.

This course provides you with early warning symptoms to watch out for and what to do if you think you are ill. It also suggests that the written control and exposure plan is available for you to read and that the company should provide you with a copy if asked.

As they said in the video, "a good defense is a thorough offense" and the more you know the safer you are.

It is very important in this current climate that we are especially mindful of the health of our clients. It is our job to provide a clean and safe environment, and using the  proper techniques every time helps ensure the safety of those in our care.

Using the right chemicals and procedures for potentially hazardous materials greatly reduces the risk of spreading infection to our clients and our loved ones.

It is never acceptable to cut corners when pathogens are involved. We have to remember it’s not just our health at risk. We not only owe it to our clients, but we owe it to ourselves to take these risks seriously, and act appropriately.

We all have them, whether they are in our homes, schools, or at our offices. Our daily cleaners or as we all know them janitors or maids are the ones that keep our every day lives going smoothly. Now, don't get me wrong i'm not say that they do it all by themselves but what i am saying without these people our daily lives would be a lot harder and a lot longer.

Your at your math class at Sacramento State and its 12 noon the toilets flood and its a mess everywhere. What do you do? You let the closes janitor on duty and they will go try to resolve the problem at hand. If the problem is bigger then they are trained for they are able to let the school know so they can make a call to have someone come in a fix it. Usually the janitor on hand will have signs, caution tape, plugers, or even a snake to unclog the pipes.

Its 8pm and you have been in the office all day trying to make sure you have you bid typed for your boss by 9 am meeting...who do you hear coming down the hall nobody but Joe the janitor coming to make you smile and tell you a joke and tell you that you got this just like he always has every night for pass 5 years.....Janitors become part of you family part of your heart...they make sure the floors are dry to you don't get hurt. It depends on what kind of building you work in but it could be the difference between touching something or a surface that had a bloodborne pathogen on it or any bodily flood on it and get sick. you couldn't eat in your school or work cafeteria if wasn't for your daily janitorial workers.
