Being aware and fully trained on the proper procedures for bloodborne pathogens is extremely important! Especially for those working in the healthcare field or medical offices. The proper procedures can protect those who may come in contact with bloodborne pathogens on the job or in daily life from HIV, HPV, or other potentially harmful infections.

Every bodily fluid should be treated as if it is infected with a bloodborne pathogen. As someone who works in that field it is imperative to know what to do with each situation that arises, especially since your health is at stake. The infections that can occur are serious and can be fatal.

It is important that each employer has a clear and easily accessible plan to address bloodborne pathogens. In the event that something happen each employee should be able to easily access the information necessary to take care of the problem. Bloodborne pathogens training can save lives and prolong the life span of healthcare and medical professionals.

We take pride in being a Green Clean Company because our green cleaning service, is making an effort to protect the planet. We always choose to use environmentally friendly products that are manufactured using sustainable methods and safe, natural biodegradable ingredients.  If we didn’t choose to be a Green company we would use other more conventional cleaning products contain toxic, hazardous, and non-biodegradable ingredients such as petroleum.

When going with a Green Clean Company you are sure to have safer surfaces and that includes carpet fibers.  The other cleaning solutions leave behind harmful chemical residues.  These residues can be harmful to your clients, employees and yourself as well as our environment.  We use only safe products that will not leave behind any harmful residue; thus leaving your clients, employees, you and the environment in better shape.

When you use a Green Clean Company you also get the benefit of indoor air quality.  Did you know that using traditional cleaning products can cause more indoor pollution than outdoors?  These cleaning products are Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) and will evaporate indoors and compromise indoor air quality.  Green Cleaning doesn’t use harmful cleaning products so your indoor air stays fresh and clean.

Using a Green Clean Company is like putting money in your pocket.  Natural and safe cleaning products are less expensive because they are natural products and less process they have to go through.  A little goes a long way when it comes to more natural ingredients in the cleaning process.  So visit ijcsa.org and hire a Green Clean Company today and help the planet and your pocket book.

Overall, you will not go wrong when you switch to a Green Clean Company for so many different and beneficial reasons.  You will be helping the planet, your furniture and flooring will last longer, indoor air quality will improve and you will reap many financial rewards.  So this is why we became an all Green Clean Company.

Bloodborne pathogens are micro-organisms found in human blood that can lead to diseases in human beings. The most common viral infections caused by bloodborne pathogens are the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).  HBV is known to cause, among other things, liver damage with symptoms that include fatigue, abdominal pain, and urine.  The onset of the virus does not occur overnight but rather over time.  HIV, like HBV may take years before symptoms such as fatigue, sore throat, and swollen glands begin to show.  HIV may cause organ failure and other fatal outcomes including death for those who contract the virus.

The pathogen is transmitted through blood found in body fluids such as saliva, vomit, and bleeding. The most common pathway for transmission is through the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth of the human body.  Another transmission method is through broken skin such as cuts and abrasions.  Cleaners are susceptible to being infected by bloodborne pathogens because of their exposure to soiled linens, body fluid clean-up, trash bags, syringes, and bathrooms.

In an effort to contain and minimize bloodborne pathogen infections, a governmental entity known as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) established what is known as "Universal Precaution" standards for employees to abide by in handling items that have a high potential for infecting humans.  Major standards, such as assuming all items from all humans are potentially infectious, color-coding soiled linen, wearing protective gear such as gloves and eyeglasses, handling trash bags with care; disinfecting cleaning equipment, washing hands, and notifying a physician if you feel you have been infected were all recommended as written standards to be implemented in policy and offered to employees by way of formal training.

I am a seasoned cleaner , have been in the cleaning field for 20 years and can honestly say great customer service is the first step towards a happy client . I have noticed in life quality in so many various things have gone out the window and customer service is one of them , is common place when I am out and about or dealing with service of any kind to be delivered poor customer service weather it be an employee or manager / owner the same quality should be delivered at every level helps seal the deal or make the sale also guarantees repeat customers as well the better the customers experience the more likely you will receive referrals for more jobs .

Customer service can make or break any business.  Poor customer service will easily deplete your customer base.  Making sure to always be pleasant is crucial when dealing with customers with eye contact, a smile and commenting or small talk is always a sure fire way to begin the customer service interaction.  Personal presentation is a form of good customer service as well. IJCSA provides great customer service courses for members.  The courses are very informative on how to keep customers, how to do the best job for our business and to be successful.

Good customer service for a janitorial service is to hear the customer’s needs in specific areas that they are concerned about and address those needs, keep in constant contact and make sure the customer is pleased with the services provided.  Let customers know the importance of maintaining a clean office for their employees and future customers.  It will help to boost employee’s moral and decrease sick time.  IJCSA Members are great at customer service and display an exemplary skill.  They are best trained for the job and stay on top of what is needed for keeping up with the industry.  In my experience, they are knowledgeable, resourceful and informative and always welcome questions with a smile.

Everyone, especially cleaning personnel, should be acquainted with bloodborne pathogens and how to protect yourself against them. As infectious microorganisms in human blood, protecting against any diseases they cause is paramount.

Using Universal Precautions as a standard in any cleaning job, helps us to minimize the risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. As cleaning professionals, we are on the frontlines and as employers, we must implement an exposure control plan so all of our employees can take measures to protect themselves.

We must implement an exposure control plan so all of our employees can take measures to protect themselves. This plan should include engineering and work practice controls, PPE, employee training and proper supervision as well as access to Hepatitis B vaccinations.
