Why Going Green is the Best Thing!

Protecting the environment and the health and safety of humans and animals can be achieved by thoughtfully considering alternatives to traditional cleaning chemicals.  Green cleaning also has the added benefit of being efficient and cost effective.  The standard of disinfection and cleanliness is maintained by replacing toxic chemicals that have been typically used in the past.  Especially when it comes to office cleaning and other buildings, green cleaning can have a significant positive impact on the indoor air quality within these buildings.

I serve on the Board of Directos for the American Lung Association, so green cleaning that helps protect the air quality helps to be in alignment with that important mission.

Having a green cleaning program offered by my company is very beneficial, not only does it cater to the different needs of different customers but it gives them a choice. Green cleaning has made a rapid approach into the world of cleaning, making cleaning safer to our environment and most importantly ourselves! Nobody wants to breath in harsh chemicals risking their health and safety to have a clean home, offering green cleaning products helps to ensure our customers the best of both worlds. Not only is it safer for our customers, but also their beloved pets! We all know how important our pets are to us and our family.

As I mentioned above, having the option to go green gives our customers a choice. Not only does it give our customers a choice but it also gives us as business owners a choice as well. You can buy many eco-friendly cleaning solutions, or you can make your own out of natural resources found in your very own kitchen! Making green cleaning not only safe to our customers and employees, but also very cost efficient! It doesn't get much better than that. So not only is it safe for everyone, but its a great investment to any company as well. With that being said, I find green cleaning a very beneficial program to offer at my business.

It is a great advantage to have a green cleaning program implemented in any facility: residential, commercial, or educational.  First and foremost the environmental benefits are the most advantageous.  Using cleaning methods that are environmentally friendly can help to preserve the environment and area from harmful chemicals that can have damaging effects.  Another benefit is it is safer. Harsh chemicals that can cause allergic reactions or present a high risk of illness if accidentally ingested or inhaled are greatly minimized in a green cleaning environment. This allows not only a safer work place for custodial employees but also a safer place for everyone.  This would be especially something to be considered in a residential or preschool/school environment where young children are present.

A green cleaning program presents many benefits for everyone.  Taking advantage of the wide variety of green cleaning agents and researching the best and most efficient agents is essential.  It is important to ensure that the cleaning agent effectively cleans to the preferred status whether that be disinfection or sanitation. This in addition to other reasons is why proper training is essential for the staff.  When properly trained, these methods can be implemented and green cleaning can be an excellent choice for cleaning needs.

I am actually not wanting to remediate mold. I do however, feel it is important that I am able to identify any mold issues within an building or residence where we are cleaning. I also think that to be able to tell clients that we are able to identify mold and alert them, would be a good marketing point for myself.

I want to also be able to identify if I am in a potentially hazardous situation. Our company has completed every other certification that the IJCSA has to offer. We felt that completing this one and having that certification under our belt would be great for both the cleaning staff and clients.
