Bloodborne Pathogens Article Response

25 Jun 2026 6:14 PM | Demetrius Englin

Cleaning Employees and staff play an important role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment. They may come into contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials, so it is essential to understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread. Proper training helps employees recognize hazards and follow safe work practices to reduce the risk of exposure to diseases such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV.

Using PPE Equipment with proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures, and safely disposing of contaminated materials are all key parts of preventing pathogens. Employees should also know how to handle sharps safely and what to do if they experience an exposure incident. Following OSHA guidelines protects both the workers and the people they serve.

Bloodborne pathogen training creates a safer workplace by increasing awareness and encouraging safe behaviors. When cleaning staff understand the risks and consistently follow proper procedures, they help prevent injuries, reduce the spread of infections, and maintain a clean and healthy environment for everyone.
