Great customer service in the janitorial industry involves many moving parts. It is important to listen to the customer, apologize for any concerns, solve their issues, and thank them for bring the item to your attention. Above just this, I believe that great service is channeling your service to the individual needs of each client.

Ask the client what their expectations are ahead of time and continually ask them if they are satisfied with their service and if they would change anything. Explain how important an open line of communication is.

Every single day as we deal with the COVID 19 PANDEMIC it is extremely important to protect everyone that enters any healthcare facility which includes patients, staff, vendors and visitors.  Due to people who are sick and possibly contagious without proper cleaning and cross contamination techniques these healthcare facilities are subject to large amounts of germs and bacteria that can be transferred from room to room, patient to patient and so on.

Infections and Viruses can be transferred to visitors and staff causing exposure to family and friends when they go home.  These infections and viruses can be transferred from HEALTHCARE FACILITIES to the new host through their shoes, clothing, keys, phones, and other objects we commonly use.  Some of these viruses and infectious diseases can live outside the body for extended periods of time causing exposure to anyone that gets near or has contact with the carrier.

HEALTHCARE FACILITY CLEANERS need to be properly trained in the necessary procedures to eliminate bacteria, germs and pathogens that can endanger everyone in the healthcare facility.  So to prevent from endangering everyone in the facility it is vital to use the appropriate level of PPE, cleaning techniques and proper training.

Medical cleaning best practices are a good benchmark to work off of when planning cleaning services for non-medical applications.  Especially in today's world where you need to be prepared with every customer engagement that there could have been a COVID exposure, it's critical to understand the key points on medical cleaning that can help as you enter a residential or commercial cleaning project.

PPE for medical cleaning is critical.  Understanding what you're walking into determines the level of PPE you need, so translating that to a residential or commercial job it's important that we are communicating with the customer pre-job to understand the current conditions and if there are any additional precautions we need to be taking.

Process driven cleaning, where you work from the top down, and clean systematically from one side of each room to another is important.  For a commercial job where most rooms you encounter will be similar it's valuable to establish a cleaning process for the room so that you ensure that each room gets the level of attention it needs.  For a residential job, it's important to understand the details of the house you are going into, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and common rooms will help you plan the job in order to clean in an effective manner.

In today's environment disinfecting is important to understand and communicate.  As you are cleaning top down, each surface, especially the high touch surfaces need to be cleaned using friction with a scrubber/sponge/rag to remove dirt or other material on the surface.  Once the surfaces hav ebeen cleaned you can go back with your disinfectant and let it do the job of killing off the germs and bacteria.  It's important to apply the bacteria and allow it to sit for the appropriate contact time in order to reach maximum efficacy.  If you can allowing the surface to air-dry will give the best results.

At Prospray we are committed to delivering professional disinfecting services to our local community in the North DFW area.  We aim to serve these groups to enable them to effectively meet the CDC Reopening America Guidance which asks these groups to use an EPA-approved disinfectant as a second step beyond their routine cleaning as we get our public spaces, businesses and schools re-opened.  We believe that our efforts to step into this space and provide this service to our local community will drive safety amongst our neighbors and mitigate the spread of disease.  You can find our company in the IJCSA directory located here: https://www.ijcsa.org/Janitorial-Service-Directory-Find-A-Janitorial-Service-JanitorialServices

The safety of others is our top priority. That's why all IJCSA Members take special care to implement green cleaning into our services. This attention to detail and the health of others is the reason why many people become part of Crystal Clean's client base.

Green cleaning implements a series of screens in order to review and eliminate toxic chemicals from our cleaning procedures. It also raises awareness and takes action towards using environmentally-friendly ingredients in order to protect both people and our world. Green cleaning is an important part of business when used properly.

By choosing a service that uses Green cleaning, you can experience benefits such as reduced health risk and a more proactive lifestyle towards protecting the environment. Green cleaning is the smarter way to clean, and Crystal Clean makes sure to use these "green" tips to ensure the best service.

A green cleaning program comes with reduced health risks. Green cleaning products ensure that the working environment is not only safe, but is a comfortable place to work in. This is especially true for those who are vulnerable when it comes to their health. We would want to create a safe environment for all people by reducing the amount of toxic chemicals that are used in cleaning. Therefore, a green cleaning program improves the quality of the air and environment around us.

Furthermore, green cleaning programs ensure better company standards and improves reputation. Companies that take extra care to the health of both employees and clients who come into the building would appear better to potential clients. This increases how well the company does. Also, the company's standards would remain at a higher level than other competitors. This standard would seep into other aspects of the company from proper cleanliness, such as customer service.

The IJCSA Masters Green Certification process has been a great experience. At its core, it reinforces the fundamentals presented in the Green Certification course. However, it doesn't stop there. The approximately 150 test questions provide a comprehensive combination of true/false, fill in the blank, multiple choice, and essay formats. This diverse format of questions targets all forms of driving knowledge retention.

Another aspect of the training that was enjoyable was the need to have to conduct one's own research in order to find clarity on some of the content (rather than having all of the information handed to you). The strong focus on chemicals, their hazards, limitations, and flexibility (in some cases) was very advantageous to the learning process.

In closing, I enjoyed refreshing and in some cases, expanding my knowledge.

It took 5 years of working in a hospital setting and several coarse from IJCSA To truly understand how effective the methods used in Medical cleaning can be, and how essential it can be moving forward.

In the medical field, or shall I say the environment service department, we disinfect accordingly and to the patient.  Every situation nor person is the same, some might be sick, while others might require surgery or even minor procedures all have a specific way of being cleaned using a specific chemicals for the material or surface to be cleaned.  More importantly these solutions are highly effective when used properly, and knowledge is key!

When you train, and educate yourself and others on the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, environment for your guest, customer, staff, and residents, and more importantly how to properly clean, kill time depending on surfaces and solutions being used can really help your building cleanse excel, helping keep everyone safe.  (HAI) can effect residents just as much as a resident, so using universal precautions before entering a place can also play a factor.

Consistency also plays a major factor, I truly believe in order to meet medical standards, the residential and commercial buildings have to be more consistent when cleaning, making it more of a factor, also a major difference is the concentrated wipes used to disinfect surfaces should be primary.  I would especially use these wipes in common areas desks, hand rails, air vent panels, all bathrooms, mail room and any other place of direct or indirect contact.

In conclusion, both places respectfully have great standards of cleaning there respectable environment, but in these times we should be empathizing excellence.  If most places find the medical and residential or commercial workplaces similar!  Why not be held to the same standard!  We are in the business of killing bacteria, not to slow them down.  I would also hold the residents or employees responsible for there stations as well.  Everyone must do there part in a collective effort to control exposure, so my last request is all staff not only porters, housekeeping, and janitors, should be responsible, especially if it is your own workspace.  Minimizing the Porters job by a small fraction, allowing them to concentrate more on common areas.
