Bloodborne Pathogens

04 Jan 2021 2:24 PM | Deleted user

It's imperative for cleaning employees and staff to be educated on bloodborne pathogens because anyone can be at risk of being exposed to pathogenic microorganisms. Exposure to pathogenic microorganisms can be life threatening or fatal. These pathogens include HBV, HCV, and HIV which later translates to AIDS.

By law, the employer must provide training to their employees on the dangers of bloodborne pathogens and how to clean blood of surfaces. Employees undergoing bloodborne pathogen training will help the employer make certain the employee understands safety procedures and how to handle hazardous material.

After an employee has been trained, they'll have a better understanding of the concept and will know the employer's responsibilities. The employer must provide personal protective equipment, vaccinations for all hepatitis illnesses, and post exposure treatment.
