It was my first investment property.  A friend had house that was left to him and had been essentially unattended for going on seven years.  He desperately needed to get out of the property and another friend and I were looking to make use of some extra time we had.  Our first walk through of the house to do a general inspection and what do we see in the garage?  Black mold climbing the walls and all over items that had obviously water damaged.

Knowing we had to first properly clean up this mess, we made sure we had a good stock of gloves, safety googles and clean air filters for our respirators.  While I had cleaned some minor bathroom mold at home this was a different beast.  We did our homework and came across Sporicidin (information here).  Well let me say, this worked wonders!  After cleaning the garage thoroughly, we were able to work safely in the house for the next several months.  The remodel took much longer and much more money than we had ever expected.  In learning about black mold, I knew that if we didn't get it all done properly, we'd end up having it return which just couldn't happen.  Well, five years later and one very good and happy tenant-I/we've never seen mold again.  If you could have been there day one, you'd cringe just as I do sometimes before I go in.

As we move to open a mold remediation department, this will be a staple in our chemical inventory.  Don't clean up mold without it!  You'll thank me later!

As an IJCSA member, we've been considering adding a Mold Remediation department to our team.  Over time, we've had multiple inquiries about this type of work and given today's virus outbreak and the similarities, we're going to get out technicians trained.  We currently have our Operation team getting trained so we can ensure we can deliver a full service solution as we do with all of our other offerings.

Proper mold remediation is a very critical part in restoring a home or office after a disaster.  Our team will not only get certified through IJCSA but we will also institute a recurring toolbox topic and training schedule to ensure we are always on the top of our game.  Our leadership team will also be making the capital investment in necessary PPE and work tools to protect our staff while cleaning up these types of situations safely.

I believe that earning and receiving green cleaning certification, if done properly will enhance our business. Once certified we can advertise as a green cleaning company which appeals to those who may feel like other chemicals are too harsh for humans and pets to be around. I will also use it as selling point to potential employees who may prefer to work with the safety of the green chemicals.  Also, once certified I intend on passing on the knowledge of this course to employees and customers who can then utilize it in there own ways in and around the house. Overall, I believe this certification can and will make a huge difference in our business. In these trying times of today especially, we are looking for safe, simple and effective ways of keeping our homes and business's safe from virus's. My intent is and will be, to educate people on the best green clean practices for everyday use and having this certification will really show that I am prepared to do so.

In the post-COVID world choosing the right cleaning company is of more importance than ever. The consequences of doing it yourself or hiring the "cheapest" contractor can be dire. Imagine what one single hospitalization from an outbreak at your place of business would do to your company. Imagine having to tell an employee's loved one that you chose to "save a few bucks" on the cleaning company, and now that employee is in the hospital sick from an outbreak at your business.

That's exactly why you should choose a IJCSA-certified cleaning company to keep your building clean and your employees and customers safe. All IJCSA-certified cleaning companies have gone through rigorous educational training giving them the expertise you'll want for peace of mind. In addition, IJCSA-certified cleaning companies always put the customer first, and that starts with professional, reliable service that doesn't quit until you're completely satisfied.

As a company we are exposed to chemicals more frecuently and it may be a point where we don't consider the risk involved we are so costume to it, but the risk are there .

The green cleaning should be part of our process and as more experience we obtain make the transition to a full green process.is not easy but is necessary, for us ,for our family and for the environment in general.

As a company we have the responsibility to provide the best service to our customers, we have the opportunity to visit different environments . Since we don't know every person reaction to chemicals we need to be prepared and be ready to provide greener alternatives with out compromising quality.

As and individual I learned that we need to be more consius about our environment and what chemicals are around us
