    The importance of my cleaning crews understanding bloodborne pathogens relies on my expectations for their safety. I want my employees to know that I value them. What they view as important is a direct reflection on how I treat them. When they know that their employer wants the best for them, they understand the importance of knowing about bloodborne pathogens. 

    I want my employees to desire to wear protective gear and proper equipment disposal. It is important because just like me, they are loved by someone. My employees have families and their family always comes first. I do not want to be negligent and lazy causing harm to others. 

    I want my employees to know they have a chain of command that is there for them. I once heard an employee from another company state that they did not want to deal with their employer if they were hurt or sick. I explained that as an employer we are asking for their trust they we will do the right thing. It is imperative that my employees know that we are there for them. 

    When my clients see that my employees have a deep sense of respect for their employer and they trust their employer, then the client will feel the same. When the clients see that the employees are taking extra steps to be mindful of possible exposure, they will respect the detail we give in our job. My goal is that considering my employees are the face of my company, they will take ownership of the job they do and the concern they have for their safety.

    It is important that my employees know about bloodborne pathogens so they can go home to their loved ones every day and feel secure in the job they have done.

    Everyone has to do their part in mitigating these hazards. IJCSA offers many certifications which also come with educational videos for employees to learn about these threats.     It is important for cleaning employees to be aware of bloodborne pathogens and the risks that come from them. But first we need to understand what they are. Bloodborne pathogens are disease-causing microorganisms in human blood which include HBV and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

    It's essential for employers to have knowledge on the procedures that are used to be cautious to help prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens. One way could be by taking special training classes to increase their knowledge on precautions they can take. Without these training classes the employees could be at risk of getting infected if the proper measures aren't taken.
