I have learned where blood-borne pathogens can be hidden and how to protect myself by handling things properly. One of the best defense is through OSHA exposure control plan.

At all times assume that blood or bodily fluids are contaminated with blood-borne pathogens. I also learned that if someone is exposed as an employer, I must maintain records for three years after that is some good information.
