Harmful effects of using everyday cleaning products vs using natural products.  The harmful effects of using everyday cleaning products is that those chemicals have a negative impact on the environment.  Numerous chemicals used are volatile organic compound that contribute to air pollution. Using non recycle or non biodegradable products contribute to the overfilling of our landfills.

When you use Ammonia to clean your windows this adds nitrogen to the environment.  This can be toxic to plants, fish, and animals.  In people when exposed for a long period of time, you will have a burning sensation to the eyes, nose and throat, pain in lungs, nausea and coughing.

Chlorine also known as hypochlorite was a powerful poison used in WWI.  This household chemical most used by people was evolved to form a household poison.  When using household bleach for everyday cleaning this produces pure chlorine in the environment.  It has an direct toxic effect on living organisms and reacts with organic materials in environment to create hazards and other carcinogenic toxins.

When using natural green products you are not leaving your carbon footprint.  Products from natural chemicals being used does not effect respiratory or cause issues such as headaches, irritation of the body.  These natural products are plant and animal friendly.

There are many benefits for having a clean program in custodial services operations. First, green-cleaning programs reduces exposure to toxic chemicals. Reduces asthma attacks by effectively keeping dust and chemical allergens at bay. Improves overall indoor air quality by reducing airborne dust and chemical gases. This is why switching to green cleaning products is good for the health and wellbeing of your people, and it prevents unnecessary chemicals from being released into the environment. Besides all this, a green program allows organizations to design innovative purchasing strategies in order to keep costs down.

First, allow to buying in bulk products; that will save you both time and money. Second streamlining purchases. For example when I work with businesses and look at their cleaning products, I find that often there are unnecessary products. Most businesses need just an all-purpose cleaner and a bathroom cleaner, so reducing your purchasing to eliminate unnecessary items will help to reduce costs. Finally, it allow to buying concentrated products, which might cost a bit more up front, but will save money in the end (while also reducing the negative environmental impacts of packaging).

There are so many harmful effects of using everyday cleaning chemicals compared to using natural green, Go green to help with Human health, environment and economy.

*Human health: the most common cleaning chemicals release VOCs to the air, these particles enter the lungs and contribute to chronic respiratory problems, allergic reactions and headaches.

*Environment: The toxins contained in the everyday cleaning chemicals can enter into the soil and water; the contamination food and wildlife, and giving origin to a harmful chain of events.

*Economy: The contamination of the different places where people can reside in how offices, houses, schools and buildings origin work can effect by school absences and missing work with economic effects over companies and household families income.

All the effects mentioned above can be easily solved if green cleaners are used instead of toxic cleaners, reducing harmful effects to the environment and people.

There are studies that show serious effects to the people (mostly women) who have worked as professional cleaners and it is associated with difficulties with lung function (American Thoracic Society).

    Products

As I began to brainstorm about starting my cleaning company. Lotts of things came to my mind. It started with a thought and from there the premises and foundation of my company unraveled. I knew the importance of using green products in my cleaning routines. I began to do research and have learned how toxins and chemicals can and have altered our composition as a whole. Many hazardous chemicals if used repeatedly have caused cancer, hormonal imbalances and many other detrimental things to our health. And so we ask ourselves “why use such chemicals to clean if there is so many consequences to doing that?” Why not use Greener Products that are safer to us that can clean just as good if not better than conventional products. In my home over the last 3 years. I have not used any bleach or ammonia products but rather safer cleaners.

My plan is to implement a business that focuses on carpet cleaning. I will use a multi-step process that begins with inspecting the area to determine the materials and the level of soil. Once I have identified these things, I will test my products in a small, inconspicuous area to make sure that they will not damage my client's property. I will use an agitating tool to loosen dirt. From there, I will dry-vacuum the area to get the loosened dirt out. Once that is done, I will use a spot cleaner on any heavy stains, and will pre-spray the entire area. The next step is to agitate a second time, to get the product in there and working. Next, I will clean the area with a professional carpet cleaning machine. (Specifically, I am starting out with a Bissell Big Green Machine.) As I clean in sections, I will use an air-mover to help facilitate drying. When everything is clean, I will then groom the area with a carpet rake/comb, to get everything nice and even. Through all of this, I will put a dedicated focus on using environmentally-friendly products that keep my clients' homes beautiful, while also minimizing my "footprint" on the planet.

One of the major benefits of having your rugs cleaned by an IJCSA member is that, in doing so, you can have peace of mind in knowing that the work is being done by someone who has studied the steps, materials, and processes necessary to get the job done well. In order to be certified as a carpet cleaner, a technician must demonstrate a well-rounded understanding of the craft; showing that he or she understands the materials that comprise a carpet, the different levels and types of soil that will be encountered, the chemistry of the cleaning agents that will be used, and the different tools and machinery that can be used for different purposes. While one can certainly know these things without being certified, a technician with the certification has hard proof that they know what they are doing, and that there is less of a risk of your property being damaged due to ignorance or negligence.

The importance of choosing a green cleaning service over a traditional cleaning company can not be overstated. There are benefits to the health of customers, employees, and the environment when compared to the potentially harmful chemicals contained in legacy cleaners.

You might be surprised to find that green cleaning doesn't refer to just the chemicals used in your kitchen and bathroom. There are green options to consider in nearly every facet of cleaning. There are many great green cleaning services which work on commercial properties, such as First Up Cleaning Services, LLC, located in Uniondale, New York. There are even green air duct cleaners, like Lily's Cleaning Service, LLC in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Many more green cleaners can be found through the IJCSA's Green Cleaning Services Directory. Searches can be filtered by geographical area and by what fields of green cleaning that the service specializes in. For every cleaning need you have, consider going green with a certified green cleaning service.

We all know that there are many benefits to green cleaning services that make it an almost necessity. One of the benefits being that it keeps the area clean and free of harmful chemicals and substances. This in turn will assist in employees not getting sick as often, which means not as many sick days. This translates into more likely having a fully staffed team all-year-round.

Another benefit would be spreading awareness about poor air quality and toxic exposure. By us providing green cleaning, people will get intrigued about why we do it or wonder what exactly is it. This will open a door for us to step in and promote green cleaning and hopefully convert others to do the same.
