Having a Green cleaning program in your business will be of great benefits. It will broaden your customer margin and also reduce the use of harsh chemicals and daily exposures. Green cleaning is environmental friendly and many customers may prefer this choice of cleaning service for personal reason.

Green cleaning may be more common for residential clients. Since residential may not required heavy duty cleaning as often as commercial sites. Some simple steps to green cleaning could start as simple as implementing door mats to reduce traffic soil, using microfiber clothes since it is reusable. These simple steps will go a long way and friendly to our staff and the environment.

Employees who clean are the first defense for public health. They put their lives as well as those of their family in arms way to ensure the larger group is protected. Due to closeness of these employees to bloodborne pathogens while performing their duties it's important they are made aware of the dangers of the most important public health job that they are performing. Potentially infectious body fluids that cleaning employees come into contact with include blood, saliva, vomit, urine, semen or vaginal secretions. With any cleaning being performed employees should keep these in mind.

There are a number of bloodborne pathogens that these employees need to be aware of and they include, Malaria, EBV (mono), Syphilis, Hepatitis B(HBV), Hepatitis C(HCV), and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). These diseases have devastated communities and hence the need to know how to better protect themselves when they are cleaning. Some of these pathogens take a long time before someone even knows that they were exposed to it.

Bloodborne pathogen awareness helps the cleaners know what PPE and how to wear or remove them for maximum protection. Proper wearing of PPE will be the best protection against contracting these diseases. Giving the knowledge to employees is the right thing to do as an employer. As a business you also want to protect your reputation as a best place to work. Its our responsibility to make sure that the employees are taken care of.

Bloodbone Pathogens comes in many life altering and deadly disease forms, such as Hepatitis Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and knowing the proper steps to take to prevent it is critical.

Bloodbone Pathogens poses serious threats to the health and well-being of all that come into contact with it and cleaning and janitorial staff who may be expose should be made aware and educated on ways to present exposure to protect life and possible life style changes that may result in the event that they are exposed.

Employees need to get the required BloodbornePathogens Safety Training needed to stay safe and follow OSHA guidelines to ensure safety. Additionally, every organization that employs such cleaning workersshould have their SOP in place for employee to follow should exposure exist.

Being an owner of a small business In Houston Texas, I believe it is important for a cleaning company to be certified and knowledgeable in mold and remediation.   Because of our geographical location, we have experienced a lot of mold. So  by adding a mold service, we believe that we can service our clients on a more professional level.  Allowing our client to have more than one option for cleaning.  Alone with our professional cleaning service,  this would help them to have more reliable professional service.

The importance of knowing about bloodborne pathogens is NOT only for the safety in the workplace but is also a vital part of not contracting or spreading the disease. Although, in my profession we are not as exposed to blood borne pathogens as much as a medical professional but exposure is still possible which is why it is very important to understand how to operate in such an environment by knowing what bloodborne pathogens are and how it enters the body, which helps create a safe work environment.

Understanding how to prevent or limit exposure to bloodborne pathogen in the workplace with proper procedures can help prevent contracting and or spreading disease.

So, what is a Bloodborne pathogen? I have come to learn that bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms that are present in human blood that may cause diseases such as HBV, HIV, and HCV, these diseases can lead to illness and in some cases even death.

I also understand that taking proper Universal Precautions such as wearing protective equipment, not eating, drinking, smoking or applying lip balm in an affected area can help protect you and reduce the potential of spreading the disease.

Understanding the responsibility an employer has in regards to keeping and enforcing these guidelines help us to better appreciate the care that we should not only exercises for our fellow employees but for ALL people in general!

My name is Ana Malone the owner of a small cleaning business and I want to protect my staff from any hazards they may encounter on the job.I t is important for cleaning staff to know about blood-borne pathogens because they could potentially come into contact with them. Blood born pathogens are infectious pathogenic microorganisms in human blood that cause diseases. There are many different blood-borne pathogens, including malaria, syphilis, and brucellosis, and most notably, hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). While performing routine cleaning duties a Busy B employee may need to dispose of infectious materials.

When cleaning, removing trash, or doing laundry my employees may come into contact with blood or other infectious materials on sinks, first aide boxes, or sharp objects that need to be disposed of. Cleaning standards provided by OSHA must be taught to ensure that the risk of exposure to my employees is lowered or eliminated.  It is important to understand that properly disposing of infectious materials is a matter of life and death.

Busy B employees will follow universal precautions by assuming that all material is hazardous. We will wash our hands frequently, cover any open cuts with band-aides, wear protective gloves, goggles, and any PPE necessary to the job. We wear PPE when handling contaminated laundry and take care not to smash the trash bags down into trash cans. Employees will be taught to clean and disinfect an area to ensure that pathogens are contained and surfaces are decontaminated so no one else is exposed to the pathogens.Busy B only uses CDC approved cleaners to clean up blood borne pathogens.
