Bloodborne Pathogens are an extreme danger to anyone working around or near them. That is why OSHA came up with the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. By their measure this standard alone can be responsible to preventing over 8,000 bloodborne infections and more than 200 deaths each year. These are impressive numbers considering that there are so many frontline workers exposed to the dangers of Bloodborne Pathogens.

These Bloodborne Pathogens are defined as a microorganism (such as a virus or bacteria) that can be present in blood and bodily fluids. These pathogens can be passed from person to person through contact by contaminated blood or any other bodily fluids. Hence the extreme danger. For many frontline workers, these hazards don't present themselves until its way too late, sometimes getting stabbed by a needle wrapped in cloth, or deep in a pants pocket.

All frontline workers need to arm themselves with the proper protective equipment and protocols in the event that they themselves become exposed. Especially for those that do biohazard cleaning, this becomes even more of a truth. These workers have to keep in mind that almost everything that they are working near can be contaminated. And with a job as dangerous as that, one mistake can cost them their life.

Finding a reputable cleaning company that is committed to providing reasonably priced residential and commercial cleaning services might be difficult.  Customers should look for cleaning services that will collaborate with them to customize their cleaning schedule to fit their budget, making it simpler than ever to maintain a pristine house without going over budget.

You may maintain a pristine atmosphere and free up more time in your busy schedule by hiring a professional cleaning company to come in for a routine cleaning or a one-time comprehensive clean. Despite the wide range of alternatives available, choosing the ideal cleaning service for your home, your family, and yourself is not a one-size-fits-all undertaking.

Since every cleaning project has a unique scope of work, it's important to consider the services a given firm provides before making a reservation.  When choosing the best cleaning service for you, consider the kinds of tools and supplies that the business employs. For example, if you are concerned about environmental impact, you might ask the firm if they utilize eco-friendly cleaning supplies. Even more environmentally friendly services are available from some providers. https://www.ijcsa.org/House-Cleaning-Services

When you decide to hire a cleaning company you must keep in mind that there will be individuals entering your home and performing cleaning processes on your biggest investment. Hiring a company that has not been properly trained can have detrimental effects on items in your home. For example, if a cleaning company has not been properly trained and they clean your oven with a cleaner when it is a self-cleaning unit, your oven could quit working properly and cost hundreds to replace. Also what would happen if a cleaner came into your home and removed valuable items without your knowledge? These are all concerns that the general public should have when deciding to hire a cleaning company.

There are many websites that can be utilized to help locate companies in your area. Simply enter your city and you can end up with a laundry list of service providers near you. But how do you know that these providers have had training? How can you be sure that they are a trusted source?

By utilizing the IJCSA's Maid Service Directory you can be put in contact with businesses that have been highly trained and vetted. Not only does the IJCSA offer training in everything from customer service to green cleaning procedures, they also provide basic training on how to properly clean residential homes and businesses. Healthcare facilities required special steps and procedures to clean and disinfect due to the high risk of contamination from harmful pathogens such as germs, bacteria, and viruses. How can we implement the same procedures to other areas of janitorial services? And how can we be the fore front against the spreading of diseases from these microorganisms?

Medical cleaning training procedures are effective in high risk areas where germs and viruses are present. The use of PPE and appropriate cleaning and disinfecting techniques are very important to avoid direct or indirect contact with pathogens. The same procedures could be utilize for residential and commercial cleaning to achieve better results for your own company and customers.

Cleaning methods use in health care facilities can be apply in residential cleaning. For instance, high touch areas should be disinfected in the same manner medical institutions do, as well as bathrooms and kitchen. When it comes to commercial cleaning, the same procedures for health care facilities should be use. In commercial settings high traffic areas like floors and carpets should be disinfected in a daily basis. Items like phones, computers key boards, hand rails and door knobs are a breeding ground for viruses.

Protecting our environment wheatear is home or business from harmful pathogens is essential for a good standard of living. Cleaning and disinfecting is a good habit and should always be exercised in a daily basis. As of right now, with the recent covid-19 pandemic we are aware of how important disinfecting is and how keeping a good habit of cleanliness have a positive impact in our lives.

Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms that are in human blood and has the potential to cause various disease if exposed. These diseases may include HIV/AIDS, hepatitis b, hepatitis c, malaria, and syphilis. The CDC reported that approximately 5.6 million healthcare and janitorial service workers are at risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Therefore, we must maintain gaining knowledge of bloodborne pathogens.

It's important to have knowledge of bloodborne pathogens because when knowledge is applied correctly it reduces the potential of a threat. Continually educating yourself on OSHA guidelines keeps the employer and their employees safe, also eliminates exposure in the workplace. With the training and guidelines of OSHA, it teaches us that we should treat all bodily fluids as if they are contaminated since there is no way to differentiate between infected fluids and non-infected fluids.

In conclusion, educating ourselves about bloodborne pathogens should remain our priority. Annually educating ourselves and employees on the proper clean up of bodily fluids will continue to ensure workplace safety. Taking the initiative to meet OSHA guidelines will help you and others around you by limiting exposure.

I believe after taking bloodborne pathogen certification course is probably the most important course one could take. Infectious bloodborne pathogens could strike anywhere anytime, and knowing the risks, dangers, precautions to take, and how to handle oneself when faced with a situation, is a matter of life and death. In the career field of a Janitorial worker or cleaning crew, it is a must to know. It is like playing Russian roulette with ones life to cleanup bodily fluids and not know the dangers of infectious pathogens.

To give a little background on bloodborne pathogens and the risks that come with it. Infectious Bloodborne pathogens are very tiny microorganisms found in blood. These pathogens can cause incurable disease such as HIV, HBV, and HCV. once you contract such disease your chances of death are extremely high. HIV or Humane Immunodeficiency is a disease that can soon bring on AIDS. It breaks down your immune system to the point you cant even fight off a common cold. These disease once you contract one is not curable. The best one can do is make your life as comfortable as possible until the disease finally wins.

Fortunately there are precautions and guidelines you can follow that will greatly reduce your chances of ever contracting a infectious bloodborne pathogen. Osha has set up many rules, guidelines, and steps to take. Universal precaution is one that we must treat all bodily fluids as infectious. How we handle taking out the trash, or what steps to take when cleaning up bodily fluids are just a few of the precautions we must follow. Not knowing these can be a death sentence to a cleaning or janitorial worker. Important to know this material is a understatement when it comes to bloodborne pathogens.
