When you decide to hire a cleaning company you must keep in mind that there will be individuals entering your home and performing cleaning processes on your biggest investment. Hiring a company that has not been properly trained can have detrimental effects on items in your home. For example, if a cleaning company has not been properly trained and they clean your oven with a cleaner when it is a self-cleaning unit, your oven could quit working properly and cost hundreds to replace. Also what would happen if a cleaner came into your home and removed valuable items without your knowledge? These are all concerns that the general public should have when deciding to hire a cleaning company.

There are many websites that can be utilized to help locate companies in your area. Simply enter your city and you can end up with a laundry list of service providers near you. But how do you know that these providers have had training? How can you be sure that they are a trusted source?

By utilizing the IJCSA's Maid Service Directory you can be put in contact with businesses that have been highly trained and vetted. Not only does the IJCSA offer training in everything from customer service to green cleaning procedures, they also provide basic training on how to properly clean residential homes and businesses. They equip their students with the knowledge on how to properly perform a cleaning from start to finish and how to test products and materials before damage can be caused to your investments. Trust in the IJCSA's industry backed training programs to link you with providers who will deliver outstanding service.

Healthcare facilities required special steps and procedures to clean and disinfect due to the high risk of contamination from harmful pathogens such as germs, bacteria, and viruses. How can we implement the same procedures to other areas of janitorial services? And how can we be the fore front against the spreading of diseases from these microorganisms?

Medical cleaning training procedures are effective in high risk areas where germs and viruses are present. The use of PPE and appropriate cleaning and disinfecting techniques are very important to avoid direct or indirect contact with pathogens. The same procedures could be utilize for residential and commercial cleaning to achieve better results for your own company and customers.

Cleaning methods use in health care facilities can be apply in residential cleaning. For instance, high touch areas should be disinfected in the same manner medical institutions do, as well as bathrooms and kitchen. When it comes to commercial cleaning, the same procedures for health care facilities should be use. In commercial settings high traffic areas like floors and carpets should be disinfected in a daily basis. Items like phones, computers key boards, hand rails and door knobs are a breeding ground for viruses.

Protecting our environment wheatear is home or business from harmful pathogens is essential for a good standard of living. Cleaning and disinfecting is a good habit and should always be exercised in a daily basis. As of right now, with the recent covid-19 pandemic we are aware of how important disinfecting is and how keeping a good habit of cleanliness have a positive impact in our lives.

Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms that are in human blood and has the potential to cause various disease if exposed. These diseases may include HIV/AIDS, hepatitis b, hepatitis c, malaria, and syphilis. The CDC reported that approximately 5.6 million healthcare and janitorial service workers are at risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Therefore, we must maintain gaining knowledge of bloodborne pathogens.

It's important to have knowledge of bloodborne pathogens because when knowledge is applied correctly it reduces the potential of a threat. Continually educating yourself on OSHA guidelines keeps the employer and their employees safe, also eliminates exposure in the workplace. With the training and guidelines of OSHA, it teaches us that we should treat all bodily fluids as if they are contaminated since there is no way to differentiate between infected fluids and non-infected fluids.

In conclusion, educating ourselves about bloodborne pathogens should remain our priority. Annually educating ourselves and employees on the proper clean up of bodily fluids will continue to ensure workplace safety. Taking the initiative to meet OSHA guidelines will help you and others around you by limiting exposure.

I believe after taking bloodborne pathogen certification course is probably the most important course one could take. Infectious bloodborne pathogens could strike anywhere anytime, and knowing the risks, dangers, precautions to take, and how to handle oneself when faced with a situation, is a matter of life and death. In the career field of a Janitorial worker or cleaning crew, it is a must to know. It is like playing Russian roulette with ones life to cleanup bodily fluids and not know the dangers of infectious pathogens.

To give a little background on bloodborne pathogens and the risks that come with it. Infectious Bloodborne pathogens are very tiny microorganisms found in blood. These pathogens can cause incurable disease such as HIV, HBV, and HCV. once you contract such disease your chances of death are extremely high. HIV or Humane Immunodeficiency is a disease that can soon bring on AIDS. It breaks down your immune system to the point you cant even fight off a common cold. These disease once you contract one is not curable. The best one can do is make your life as comfortable as possible until the disease finally wins.

Fortunately there are precautions and guidelines you can follow that will greatly reduce your chances of ever contracting a infectious bloodborne pathogen. Osha has set up many rules, guidelines, and steps to take. Universal precaution is one that we must treat all bodily fluids as infectious. How we handle taking out the trash, or what steps to take when cleaning up bodily fluids are just a few of the precautions we must follow. Not knowing these can be a death sentence to a cleaning or janitorial worker. Important to know this material is a understatement when it comes to bloodborne pathogens.

We are excited to announce that we are now Green Cleaning Certified by IJSCA! Not only do we provide cleaning services that exceed expectations, but we can effectively do so while keeping your family, our cleaners, and our environment safer. After becoming certified in Green Cleaning, we carefully evaluated the cleaning products and tools that we use, and decided to implement some substitutions that we could use in our Green Cleaning service to put in place of them to provide the best possible results, at a lower cost to human/pet health, and environmental impacts.

The first thing we will be implementing as part of our Green Cleaning program, is biodegradable trash bags. They won't take nearly as long to biodegrade as regular plastic trash bags and will lower the amount of toxic emissions that are created during the manufacturing process of regular trash bags.

Next, we will not be using any cleaning solution that contains any form of bleach. No bathroom cleaners, no disinfectants, no stain removers, etc.  There are a whole host of reasons as to why this was a no-brainer to us, and we know that some people don't believe that bleach is as awful to their health and the environment as it really is, but it isn't even going to be offered as a part of our regular services.

Among other things, we've decided to use solutions that have more natural active ingredients. Things like vinegar, citric acid (from things like oranges, lemons, etc.), washing soda, and olive oil, prove unbelievably useful around the entire home. These simple ingredients in the right combinations can effectively take care of things like stain removing, window cleaning, grout brightening, deodorizing, furniture polishing, etc.

As these are just a few of the things we're implementing as IJSCA Green Cleaning Certified business members, we're constantly improving our practices as we become more informed.  Because of this, we know you'll be more than happy with our Green Cleaning services, and can feel great that you played a role in keeping your family and the world a little safer in choosing to partner with us!

How Important Are Janitors & Janitorial Staff To Our Daily Lives

Janitors are extremely important to our day to day lives. Just think without janitors, going to the hospitals with bodily fluids and trash everywhere. I can tell you now that you would probably walk out. Or what about going to the grocery store and seeing trash and old food all over the floor, again you would probably walk out.

Janitors make up the back ground of the world but without janitors the world would be a complete mess. Mostly every company in the world that allows customer access to their facility should understand that customer service starts with a clean waiting area.  If you agree, you are at the right place. Please see IJCSA's Janitorial Service Directory- https://www.ijcsa.org/Janitorial-Service-Directory-Find-A-Janitorial-Service-JanitorialServices for all your janitorial needs.

Before I let you go, you should understand when go to the bank, gym, store, or even events that it take a lot of effort from great men and women to have cleaned up the place so you could enjoy the best experiences of your lives.   Please see a janitor, thank a janitor.

The roles of janitorial & custodians are extremely important to upkeep buildings, schools, medical facilities, churches, and much more. Janitors are the reason why people are able to go into a bathroom or building or breakroom and it is smelling and looking clean.  Janitorial services is something that can never be overlooked. The White House as a Janitor, who cleans and keeps the oval office very tidy and clean. Janitors have to be trained and learn proper steps to cleaning a variety of locations within the facility.

Janitors keep the location spotless and clean for the next day and or shift for oncoming staff who work at the location.  There is many perks in hiring an janitor to maintain the building functions , such the cafeteria, restroom, breakroom, gym, locker room, and so much more. Floor maintenance for stripping, waxing, buffing the floors(VCT) when needed.

Training janitors properly and continuous training can improve the janitor's ability to get the job done and have great productivity during their shift. The biggest concern would a dirty and unsanitary environment for people to be in. Especially during these times of uncertainly about COVID-19 and it being noticed that it's on the raise again.  Its very important to have janitors working and trained to serve the public at the highest level .

Janitors keep everything organized and tidy, helps others mental health. A individual walks into a dirty locations and makes people take caution due to the look and smell of the location. Versus that same individual walking into other part of the building which is properly clean and tidy puts people in great mental state and good. No janitor and see how your locations look after one week. Janitors are vital to keep the environment clean and organized , which is needed more than ever.
