First of all taking the Bloodborne Pathogen issue seriously is of outmost importance. We need to train ourselves and our employees on all the dangers of dealing with this type of issue in any work place. When you are cleaning any area especially bathrooms, it is a must that you are trained and have the knowledge of dealing with any Bloodborne Pathogen as to keep yourself and others safe.

Any one coming in contact with a Bloodborne Pathogen has the capability of becoming infected to a degree of serious illness and even death. So I can’t express the importance enough of letting your employees know what to do when coming into contact with any bodily fluids. We tend not to think that anything will happen if we use bleach while cleaning any area, but it is a much more complex issue than that.

Also must have a clear and swift plan of action for all your employees for any potential exposure to these pathogens. There has to be a protocol for such circumstances that must be known and followed by all up and down the chain of employee-employer relationships. Make sure that all MSDS’s are readily available at all facilities and proper training is done with all employees.

It is very important to know the risks of working in places where you can come into contact with blood,to avoid contracting diseases and protect other people from being infected.

The most common blood-borne diseases are Hepatitis B and HIV.

To achieve a safe environment, universal precautions must be taken.

In the event of accidental contact with blood, immediately consult a supervisor and follow the established protocol.

It is important for all employees and staff to understand and grasp the concept of how dangerous bloodborne pathogens can be. It shouldn't depend on how big or small the job is. All employees encompassing cleaning should be able to take precautionary measures on a day-to-day basis.

If an employee is not aware of the repercussions following bloodborne pathogens, then they should not be able to work. If an employee is not given proper training, then the matter will fall onto management and can be taken to the legal route. Unfortunately, cleaning up after anybody can be off-putting at times. However, if cleaning measures are taken properly, then there is a much lower chance at someone contracting HBV or HIV.

Disappointingly enough, if someone does contract HBV or HIV, it doesn't always stop there. Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) can lead to severe liver problems and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) can lead to AIDS. Both results may end in death as well. This can all be prevented and avoided with proper management, training, and PPE.

It is important and crucial to know what are the Bloodborne Pathogens and how to prevent exposure at the worksite. Not only people working in the healthcare industry but also the janitors, front cleaners, supervisors and managers should be familiar with the prevention of exposure to B.B.P.

Learning about safety,  handling and disposal of contaminated sharps, needles and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) is the best way to be prepared and help prepare your employees for a better and safer way to handle bloodborne pathogens.

Using the appropriate personal protective equipment will prevent you from potential exposure. For example; gloves, goggles/ safety glasses, face shields, media gowns or lab coats.

When you diligently prioritize being certified and/or recertified in green cleaning, it ultimately takes you down a journey that reiterates the versatile options that one has at his/her disposal regarding green cleaning. The most popular benefits of being a green cleaner are very obvious: 1) Reduction in health risks 2) Improvements in indoor air quality. 3) Reduction in harsh chemicals being placed in the environment. 4) Increase in productivity.

Pursuing the Masters Green Cleaning Certification deepens your awakening regarding not only what is categorized as green cleaning, but it also expands your appreciation for true "all natural cleaning" options as well. Further exploring the availability of natural alternatives to harsh chemicals gives you a greater sense of how to truly position yourself, your employees, your customers, and their customers to no longer just prioritize cleaning with excellence, but instead to prioritize cleaning to a healthy and safe environment with excellence. This is a clear distinction between those two agendas.

A Masters Green Cleaner does not have to limit him/herself to just striving to be better than the competition, but instead, can strive towards being among the fewer qualified providers (in the industry) of transforming the customers' environments into mini-safe havens (from a cleaning perspective).

A Masters Green Cleaner is equipped with the knowledge to better lead his/her team towards differentiating themselves in a way that makes them feel like they are a part of something bigger than the norm. Successful teams all have three things in common: knowledgeable leadership, teammates that get better over time, and everyone buying into a vision that truly positions the team "to win".

A Masters Green Cleaner has the knowledge and awareness of educating the team on ways to improve its cleaning practices while also protecting the employees from being insufficiently protected from harsh chemicals. In closing, all of these are reasons that reinforce the benefits of being a green cleaner (Masters Green Cleaner).

Great customer service in the janitorial industry involves many moving parts. It is important to listen to the customer, apologize for any concerns, solve their issues, and thank them for bring the item to your attention. Above just this, I believe that great service is channeling your service to the individual needs of each client.

Ask the client what their expectations are ahead of time and continually ask them if they are satisfied with their service and if they would change anything. Explain how important an open line of communication is.

Every single day as we deal with the COVID 19 PANDEMIC it is extremely important to protect everyone that enters any healthcare facility which includes patients, staff, vendors and visitors.  Due to people who are sick and possibly contagious without proper cleaning and cross contamination techniques these healthcare facilities are subject to large amounts of germs and bacteria that can be transferred from room to room, patient to patient and so on.

Infections and Viruses can be transferred to visitors and staff causing exposure to family and friends when they go home.  These infections and viruses can be transferred from HEALTHCARE FACILITIES to the new host through their shoes, clothing, keys, phones, and other objects we commonly use.  Some of these viruses and infectious diseases can live outside the body for extended periods of time causing exposure to anyone that gets near or has contact with the carrier.

HEALTHCARE FACILITY CLEANERS need to be properly trained in the necessary procedures to eliminate bacteria, germs and pathogens that can endanger everyone in the healthcare facility.  So to prevent from endangering everyone in the facility it is vital to use the appropriate level of PPE, cleaning techniques and proper training.
