Environmental cleaning is part of Universal Precautions, which should be applied to all healthcare facilities. It is important that environmental cleaning programs be implemented within the framework of facility-level programs. Where possible during staff training and education, for example, consider generating synergies and highlighting the relationship between environmental cleaning and hand hygiene activities in preventing environmental transmission of HAIs.

Healthcare facilities must have adequate water and sanitation infrastructure (e.g., safe wastewater disposal) to perform environmental cleaning according to best practices. The critical lack of access to basic water, sanitation and hygiene services in healthcare facilities in resource limited settings, which hinders the ability of facilities to implement effective environmental cleaning programs.

The cleaning of hard surfaces in hospital rooms is critical for reducing health care–associated infections. This review describes the evidence examining current methods of cleaning, disinfecting, and monitoring cleanliness of patient rooms, as well as contextual factors that may affect implementation and effectiveness.

There are a wide variety of chemical disinfectants approved for use in the hospital setting. The most commonly used surface disinfectants are quaternary ammonium compounds and sodium hypochlorite. The effectiveness of chemical disinfectants can depend both upon the antimicrobial activity of the disinfectant and appropriate application, including adequacy of cleaning, appropriate contact time, and concentration of the disinfectant.            The importance of cleaning employees knowing about bloodborne pathogens can signify the difference between life and death. We have many bacteria and viruses going around and we have to take precautions so we don't get in touch with these contaminated areas and bring it into our bodies

OSHA made some standards to prevent any working professional in pathogens environment including cleaners. The transmission can occur by getting in touch with contaminated areas and touching our mucous member in our mouth, eyes, nose and a open wound.

Cleaning employees must always have good habits and practices, use protective gear like latex gloves and glasses and proper respirator masks. Employees whom are aware of OSHA will help to reduce contact with people and pathogens will also making this environment safe, clean and healthier.

By using everyday use cleaning product, toxic chemicals like ammonia, bleach, lye, phenol, hydrochloric acid etc. can cause harmful effects.

These chemicals may cause difficulty breathing, burns on skin and serious health conditions. Bleach and ammonia can cause irritation to the eyes, skin or throat. Also by going down the drain they can damage the environment.

On the other hand, when using green cleaning products, you don't suffer these harmful effects. For example hydrogen peroxide is an environmentally safe substitute for bleach. It is a successful disinfectant used on lifeless objects.

Thyme oil, which is found in most natural based products, is also a way of disinfecting areas and leaving a fresh smell and cause no harm. It destroys cell contents that are harming humans or organic surfaces.

In conclusion using Green Cleaning products are not harmful like using everyday use products to get the job done. Green Cleaning products are natural and won't harm you. The IJSCA Green Cleaning Certified course (https://www.ijcsa.org/Green-Certification-Course) can clarify and back up these products mentioned above.
